Tiantan Street Environmental Protection Mobile Toilet

Admin October 06, 2026

Tiantan Street has not yet clearly deployed a dedicated project for independent environmental protection mobile toilets. Its public toilet renovation primarily focuses on upgrading traditional public toilets, but during construction, water-flushing mobile toilets are deployed to meet temporary needs, with potential application of modular and water-saving environmental protection designs in technology.

I. Public Toilet Renovation Project: Environmental Upgrades for Traditional Public Toilets

As one of the nine streets in Dongcheng District undergoing public toilet renovation, Tiantan Street has initiated a systematic upgrade for 35 old public toilets, expected to be completed by the end of September 2022. The renovation focuses on enhancing environmental protection and user experience:

  • Structural and Aesthetic Optimization: Wall reinforcement and beautification of interior and exterior facades to enhance the durability and visual cleanliness of public toilets.
  • Equipment Upgrades: Installation of heating and cooling systems, deodorization equipment, optimization of toilets (such as water-saving toilets), and addition of sinks to improve comfort and hygiene during use.
  • Environmental Goals: Reducing odors and water consumption through equipment updates, but the renovation targets fixed traditional public toilets without explicit mention of mobile toilet deployment.

II. Temporary Solution: Deployment of Water-Flushing Mobile Toilets

During the public toilet renovation construction period, to address residents' temporary toilet needs, the Dongcheng District Environmental Sanitation Center has deployed water-flushing mobile toilets in areas including Tiantan Street, with dedicated cleaning staff assigned. Although these toilets are mobile, they serve as temporary transitional facilities and differ from long-term deployed environmental protection mobile toilets:

  • Functional Characteristics: Water-flushing design reduces odors, and dedicated cleaning ensures hygiene, but they require connection to municipal water supply and sewage systems, limiting flexibility.
  • Deployment Scope: Used only during the renovation period and removed upon completion, not serving as long-term fixed facilities.

III. Technological Possibilities: Potential Applications of Environmental Protection Mobile Toilets

Mobile environmental protection toilets in Beijing generally adopt the following technologies, which may be indirectly applied to temporary or new toilets in Tiantan Street:

  • Modular Design: Facilitates quick installation, disassembly, and relocation to adapt to different scenarios.
  • Water-Saving Technologies: Such as vacuum suction systems (single flush volume ≤ 0.5L) or biodegradation technologies (no flushing required), reducing water consumption.
  • Energy Recycling: Solar power systems supply electricity for lighting, ventilation, and other equipment, lowering operational energy consumption.

Note: Currently, there is no public information confirming that Tiantan Street has independently deployed such technologically advanced environmental protection mobile toilets. Its public toilet renovation still primarily focuses on upgrading traditional public toilets. For specific model or deployment details, it is recommended to contact the Dongcheng District Environmental Sanitation Center or consult the latest official announcements.
