What is the Thickness of Prefabricated House Walls

Admin September 18, 2026

The thickness of prefabricated house walls varies depending on the application, with common specifications including 75mm, 90mm, 100mm, and 120mm. The thickness of cement prefabricated panel walls generally ranges from 120mm to 150mm.

Different thicknesses of prefabricated house walls have specific functional orientations, as detailed below:

75mm Walls: Primarily used for interior partitions. These walls are lightweight and easy to construct, effectively dividing interior spaces while minimizing the impact on the overall building load. Their sound insulation and thermal insulation properties are relatively basic, making them suitable for areas with high functional zoning requirements but low thermal insulation needs, such as office partitions and store divisions in shopping malls.

90mm Walls: The core function is exterior wall insulation. These walls meet basic structural strength requirements while significantly enhancing the thermal performance of the building envelope through increased insulation material filling. They are used in exterior wall insulation layers for residential and commercial buildings, particularly in temperate climates or projects with moderate energy consumption control requirements.

100mm Walls: Combine exterior wall insulation with light housing construction functions. Compared to 90mm walls, they offer higher structural strength, allowing them to support more complex facade decorations or additional equipment while further optimizing insulation performance. This specification is commonly used for exterior walls in low-rise residences, vacation villas, and other light buildings, as well as for wall thickening projects in existing building renovations.

120mm Walls: Mainly applied in heavy industrial buildings. These walls provide high compressive and impact resistance, meeting the stringent structural safety requirements of industrial plants and storage facilities. They typically incorporate steel reinforcement or high-strength concrete internally to withstand external forces such as equipment vibration and cargo loading, while also providing basic fire protection and sound insulation functions.

Cement Prefabricated Panel Walls: Typically range in thickness from 120mm to 150mm. These walls are manufactured using factory prefabrication processes, ensuring dimensional accuracy and quality stability through standardized production. Their applications include partition walls in public buildings and lining walls in underground projects. Some products, through special design, can combine load-bearing and decorative functions, with thickness selection depending on specific design loads and usage requirements.
