The Invention Process of Mobile Toilets
The invention process of mobile toilets primarily involves individual handmade modifications, and a unified industrial invention path has not yet been established. However, there are two typical handmade solutions, both centered around the modification of water storage containers and the integration of functional modules, as detailed below:

Case One: Mobile Toilet Made from Modified Water Storage Barrels
Basic Structure Construction Using discarded water storage barrels as raw materials, an angle grinder is employed to split them longitudinally into two halves, forming two semi-cylindrical shells. Universal wheels are installed at the four corners of a wooden base plate to enable overall mobility. This step resolves the issue of the barrels being too large and difficult to transport by modular disassembly, while the universal wheels provide flexible movement capabilities.
Height and Wall Reinforcement Wooden strips are fixed along the upper edge of the barrel, connected with self-tapping screws to form a frame structure, increasing the interior height of the toilet to a comfortable range for humans. After cutting rectangular openings on the sides, sponge strips are inserted as door frame buffers, and plastic soft panels are installed as walls to balance sealing and lightweight requirements.
Roof and Aesthetic Treatment The upper half of the split water storage barrel is inverted and placed on top as a roof, utilizing its curved structure for natural drainage. The wooden strips are painted with white waterproof paint to prevent wood decay and enhance overall visual cleanliness.
Internal Device Installation
- Drainage System: A hole is drilled at the bottom to install a drainpipe, forming a floor drain, and a side hole is connected to a direct joint to ensure directional sewage discharge.
- Water Storage and Heating: A plastic bucket is nested on top as a water storage device, and water pipes are connected to create a simple bathroom heater, addressing flushing and heating issues.
- Toilet and Handwashing Facilities: A toilet is fixed and connected to a water tank, with the drainpipe extending to the doorway to set up a handwashing basin. A three-way horizontal pipe enables water circulation.
Case Two: Mobile Toilet Made from a Combination of Water Storage Tanks and Pallets
Mobile Frame Construction Universal wheels are installed at the four corners of the bottom of a plastic pallet to form a movable base, on which a recycled water storage tank is placed as the main structure. This design disperses the tank's weight through the pallet, reducing movement resistance.
Tank Modification Along the top marking line of the water storage tank, one side is cut away to form an opening. Two open tanks are stacked vertically and fixed with self-tapping screws to form a double-layer structure, increasing the interior space height.
Doorway and Internal Facilities
- Toilet Installation: After cutting a rectangular doorway, a hole is drilled in the interior floor to install an elbow and water pipe. The toilet is fixed and sealed with glue to prevent sewage leakage.
- Water Supply System: Water pipes are fixed to the walls with clips, and a faucet, pipe cap, and stainless steel basin handwashing basin are installed. The toilet water tank is connected to a shower hose, equipped with a spray-type showerhead for multi-functional use.
- Comfort Optimization: A toilet seat is installed to enhance the user experience, with functional integration achieved through modular design.
Door Installation A door is made from wooden boards and hinges, with a door handle installed to ensure easy opening and closing, completing the enclosed space construction.
The industrial development of modern mobile toilets has further introduced polyethylene one-piece molding technology (to solve leakage problems) and intelligent systems (such as vacuum suction sewage removal and facial recognition paper dispensing). However, these belong to the realm of technological iteration rather than individual invention processes.
