Temporary Mobile Toilet Installation Standard

Admin October 08, 2026

The installation standard for temporary mobile toilets covers five core aspects: site selection, installation, supporting facilities, maintenance, and operation. The specific requirements are as follows:

I. Site Selection Specifications

  1. Location Selection: It should be close to areas with high pedestrian traffic, no more than 50 meters from the main venue for easy use and maintenance. Avoid low-lying areas prone to waterlogging or areas with dense underground pipelines to prevent foundation settlement or construction interference.
  2. Spacing and Ratio: One mobile toilet should be provided for every 30-50 people. The recommended ratio of male to female toilet stalls is 1:1.5. For large-scale events, accessible toilet stalls and baby care rooms should be added to meet the needs of special groups.
  3. Signage: Set up clear signs in prominent locations to indicate the toilet's location and usage instructions, preventing users from getting lost or misoperating.

II. Installation Requirements

  1. Foundation Preparation: The ground should be level and firm, away from main construction roads and pollution sources. The load-bearing capacity of a single toilet should be ≥200kg/㎡. Gravel or concrete foundations can be laid to enhance stability.
  2. Stable Fixation: When lifting with a forklift or crane, keep the toilet body level to avoid tilting. Unified command is required during multi-person collaboration to prevent collisions or tipping.
  3. Drainage Connection: The sewage pipe should be effectively connected to the municipal drainage system or septic tank. The connection should be sealed and equipped with an anti-backflow valve to prevent sewage leakage or backflow.
  4. Flush Testing: After connecting the water supply, test the flushing function and check if the drainage pipes are unobstructed to ensure no blockages or leaks.

III. Supporting Facilities and Safety

  1. Internal Facilities: Safety devices such as handrails and anti-slip mats should be installed. Electrical equipment should comply with national safety standards to prevent electric shock or slip accidents.
  2. Signage and Lighting: Set up reflective signs around the toilet. Adequate lighting should be ensured at night to prevent collisions. An emergency call device can be added at the entrance.
  3. Environmental Requirements: Wastewater should be treated by an environmentally friendly treatment device before discharge. Direct discharge into natural water bodies is prohibited, and it should comply with local environmental protection department standards.

IV. Maintenance and Emergency Response

  1. Daily Maintenance: Clean up garbage, replenish toilet paper and hand soap daily, and regularly disinfect to keep the toilet air fresh.
  2. Regular Inspection: Check the electrical circuits, valves, and flushing system monthly. Report and repair any faults promptly to ensure normal equipment operation.
  3. Emergency Plan: Develop an emergency response plan for situations such as equipment failure or a sudden increase in pedestrian traffic. Equip with 24-hour on-duty personnel for quick response to needs.

V. Operation Precautions

  1. Safety Protection: Wear protective equipment such as gloves and safety helmets during installation and disassembly to prevent injuries from falling objects or machinery.
  2. Follow Instructions: Strictly follow the installation manual provided by the manufacturer to ensure correct installation of load-bearing structures and sealing components, preventing structural instability or leakage.
  3. Sealing Treatment: Use sealant or sealing strips at the joints of wall panels and floor panels to prevent rainwater infiltration or odor diffusion.
