Temporary Mobile Toilet Construction
Admin September 21, 2026
Temporary mobile toilets can be handmade using water storage tanks or buckets. Here are the specific methods:

I. Water Storage Tank Construction Method
Basic Structure Construction
- Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet for easy mobility. Place a recycled water storage tank from a garbage station on the pallet as the main body of the toilet.
- Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked lines on the top of the water storage tank to form an open tank. Stack two open-top water storage tanks upside down and fix them with self-tapping screws to form a double-layer structure for enhanced stability.
Functional Module Installation
- Doorway Design: Cut a rectangular opening on the side of the tank as the doorway to ensure easy access for people.
- Drainage System: Drill a hole in the interior floor, insert an elbow and a pipe, and seal it to connect to the toilet drain. Install a pipe cap and a drain pipe below to ensure smooth sewage discharge.
- Water Facilities: Fix a water pipe on the wall with clips, install a faucet, and connect a stainless steel basin below as a hand-washing basin. Connect the toilet tank and the shower hose, and install a toilet seat and a spray showerhead to meet basic cleaning needs.
Detail Refinement
- Make a door using wooden boards and hinges, and install a door handle to ensure privacy and tightness.
- After the overall structure is completed, check the tightness of all connections to prevent water leakage or odor diffusion.
II. Water Storage Bucket Construction Method
Main Body Modification
- Use an angle grinder to split the water storage bucket in half to serve as the upper and lower parts of the toilet.
- Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board, and fix it to the upper side of the bucket with wooden strips and self-tapping screws to increase the height to accommodate the toilet and water facilities.
Wall and Roof Construction
- Cut a doorway on the side of the water storage bucket, install sponge strips to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards to form raised walls, enhancing the interior space.
- Place the upper half of the water storage bucket on the top of the wooden strips as the roof, and apply white waterproof paint to prevent rainwater penetration.
Functional System Integration
- Drainage System: Drill a hole at the bottom of the bucket and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Drill a hole on the side and connect it to a direct joint, and connect the drain pipe to a sewage bucket.
- Water Facilities: Drill a hole on the side and connect a water pipe to make a bath heater. Install a three-way joint below the inlet pipe and connect it to a showerhead. Place the toilet and install the tank, and fix it with glass glue to ensure stability.
- Hand-washing Basin Design: Connect a water pipe horizontally from the three-way joint of the outlet pipe and extend it to the doorway as the inlet pipe for the hand-washing basin for convenient use.
Door Making and Installation
- Make a door using foam strips and honeycomb wooden boards, and drill holes in the door to install joints and hoses to ensure functional integrity and tightness.
Both methods are suitable for temporary needs, such as large construction sites and outdoor activities. The appropriate method should be selected based on material availability and functional requirements.
