Suzhou Concrete Prefabricated Houses
Suzhou has rich practices and developments in concrete prefabricated houses, covering multiple aspects such as historical research, policy management, rural promotion, and market supply.

Historical Research and Application
Research on prefabricated large-panel residential buildings in China began in 1958, and they emerged and were promoted in Suzhou during the 1970s and 1980s. However, starting from 1985, this type of residential building gradually faded from the historical stage due to defects such as leakage, poor seismic performance, and inadequate sound and heat insulation. Currently, Suzhou mainly adopts methods such as exterior facade renovation, structural reinforcement, or inclusion in demolition and reconstruction plans to deal with existing old prefabricated concrete wall panel houses, aiming to enhance building safety and living comfort.
Policy Management and Quality Supervision
To regulate the market for prefabricated concrete components, Suzhou City has implemented an information collection system starting from January 1, 2025. It requires that information on prefabricated component production enterprises and product quality for newly started housing construction projects be included in the regulatory scope. The collection scope covers components such as prefabricated composite floor slabs, stair slabs, wall panels, beams, and columns, encompassing projects using prefabricated components within the city's administrative region. By April 1, 2025, all regions need to urge ongoing projects to complete information collection and put forward clear requirements for aspects such as production enterprise qualifications and component on-site inspection to ensure traceable project quality.
Rural Promotion Practices
Suzhou City actively promotes the application of prefabricated housing construction technology in rural areas. For example, through cooperation between enterprises and villages in Yangchenghu Town, Xiangcheng District, multiple prefabricated farmer villas have been built:
- Yanggoulou Village adopts building mesh structure technology, taking only two months from on-site assembly to roughcast completion;
- The "model building" in Qingshui Village is designed and built by Broad Homes Industrial, with a construction period of less than one month;
- The "model building" in Xinjing Village is undertaken by China Construction Science and Industry Corporation, with the main structure erected just 11 hours after the construction team entered the site.
These cases demonstrate the advantages of prefabricated housing construction in shortening construction periods and improving efficiency, providing new models for rural housing construction.
Market Supply Situation
Enterprises in Suzhou and its surrounding areas (such as Xuzhou and Yangzhou) offer concrete prefabricated house products through e-commerce platforms, covering uses such as rural dormitories, sightseeing houses, and temporary housing. Prices vary significantly depending on specifications and uses. For example, prefabricated cement movable panel houses are priced at approximately 300-500 yuan per square meter based on area, and some complete house prices are calculated on a "per set" basis. Suppliers include Xuzhou Xiangfeng New Energy Co., Ltd., Jiawang District Qingshanquan Xinda Cement Product Manufacturing Department, etc. The product types are diverse and can meet various needs.
