Steel Structure Prefabricated Factory Building Roof
The roof of a steel structure prefabricated factory building typically adopts a steel structure roof form, characterized by reasonable structural composition, scientific wind-resistant design, and efficient construction.

Structural Composition
The roof of a steel structure prefabricated factory building has a well-defined hierarchical structure. The outermost layer is made of color-coated steel sheets, which are strong and galvanized on the surface, effectively preventing rust and ensuring long-term use of the roof. Between the layers are insulation and waterproofing layers. In northern regions, the insulation layer can be up to 8 centimeters thick, effectively resisting cold. The waterproofing layer uses PVC membranes that can last for 20 years, with special coatings applied at the seams to enhance waterproofing performance. At the bottom is a steel truss support, providing a stable structural foundation for the entire roof.
Wind-Resistant Design
To cope with strong winds, the roof of a steel structure prefabricated factory building incorporates various wind-resistant designs. On the one hand, a double-layer structure with ventilators is used, capable of withstanding gales of up to 200 kilometers per hour. On the other hand, standing seam technology is employed, with tests showing it can withstand wind pressures of nearly one ton per square meter, 25% higher than design requirements, significantly improving the roof's wind resistance. For vulnerable areas such as eaves and ridges, purlin welding reinforcement is also implemented to further enhance wind resistance.
Construction Characteristics
The roof is prefabricated in the factory and then directly assembled on-site, resulting in high construction efficiency. For example, a 63-meter-span truss can be hoisted as a whole using hydraulic equipment, three times faster than traditional construction methods. However, there are certain limitations to construction; work cannot proceed in rainy weather as water on the steel surface can affect welding quality. For large-span roof construction, lifting brackets and hydraulic lifters are used to ensure smooth progress.
Roof Panel Types
From a structural perspective, there are single-layer profiled steel sheets, sandwich panels, and metal composite panels. From a functional perspective, they can be classified into various types such as insulation, fire resistance, sound insulation, corrosion resistance, and energy efficiency. Single-layer profiled steel sheets offer fast construction and low cost but have weak insulation performance, making them suitable for simple factory buildings and agricultural greenhouses with low comfort requirements.
