Classification of Steel Structure Container Houses
Admin September 16, 2026
Steel structure container houses can be mainly classified based on functional use, structural form, construction technology, structural source and construction method, and spatial combination form.

Classification by Functional Use
- Residential Type: Includes space capsule homestays, travel pods, hotel rooms, etc. Internally, they are finely decorated to hotel standards, equipped with independent bathrooms and smart home systems, focusing on travel comfort.
- Commercial Type: Includes mobile food stalls, mobile cabins, scenic area sales kiosks, etc., emphasizing functional zoning and quick meal preparation or business flow design.
- Public Facility Type: Such as mobile restrooms, sentry boxes, temporary reception centers, emphasizing durability and rapid deployment capabilities.
- Office Type: Independent office units transformed from standard containers, commonly available in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes, can be used singly or combined for use in project departments, construction site command centers, etc.
- Special Type: Such as medical containers, equipment containers, laboratory containers, explosion-proof/refrigerated containers, etc., meeting specific functional requirements.
Classification by Structural Form
- Single Standard Container: Used independently as a single unit, offering high flexibility.
- Combined Containers: Form large spaces by combining multiple containers, suitable for restaurants, exhibition halls, etc.
- Special Appearance Series: Such as the Space caps house series, featuring differentiated exterior designs with panoramic glass and streamlined shells to create high-value网红打卡 (internet celebrity check-in) properties.
Classification by Construction Technology
- Light Steel Structure Container: Uses hot-dip galvanized steel frames, providing a stable structure with earthquake and wind resistance.
- Aviation Aluminum Shell Container: Covered with aviation-grade aluminum alloy panels and fluorocarbon spraying, offering stronger weather resistance and a more premium texture.
Classification by Structural Source and Construction Method
- Custom Fixed Container Modules: Newly built according to ISO modulus, some using thinner plates or material substitutions, with non-standard corner fittings arrangements, offering higher factory automation.
- Variable Container Modules: Wall panels can be flipped/extended/rotated (such as expandable shops, display boxes), generally used singly on one floor.
- Integrally Welded Type: Dry box type, with good overall structural integrity.
- Light Steel Keel Type: Uses light steel keels as the framework, combined with other materials.
- Plug-in Type: Connects components through plug-in methods.
- Folding Type: Compresses volume during transportation and quickly expands upon arrival at the site.
