Specifications of Prefabricated Panels in Building Construction
The specifications of prefabricated panels in building construction mainly include four aspects: span, width, thickness, and length modulus:

Span: The span of a prefabricated panel is one of its most critical parameters, determining the size of the space it can span. The maximum span for residential prefabricated panels is typically 4.2 meters, a dimension that does not follow modulus rules. If a span exceeding this size is required, custom production is necessary. Standard spans range from 3 meters to 4.2 meters, increasing in increments of 30 centimeters, such as 3 meters, 3.3 meters, 3.6 meters, and so on, up to the maximum limit of 4.2 meters. For special requirements, such as a 3.8-meter span, production is possible but usually requires an additional fee.
Width: The width of prefabricated panels is designed in various ways to accommodate different architectural layouts and load requirements. Common width specifications include 500 millimeters and 600 millimeters, both widely used in residential construction. Additionally, width can vary based on the number of holes; for example, four-hole panels typically have a width of 400 millimeters, while five-hole panels have a width of 500 millimeters.
Thickness: The thickness of a prefabricated panel directly affects its load-bearing capacity, as well as its sound insulation and thermal insulation properties. Common thickness specifications are 120 millimeters and 150 millimeters, both of which meet the needs of most residential buildings. Although 100-millimeter-thick prefabricated panels are less commonly used, they can be custom-produced for specific situations, such as when load requirements are low or space is limited.
Length Modulus: To facilitate production and installation, the length of prefabricated panels usually follows certain modulus rules. A common length modulus is 300 millimeters, meaning panel lengths can be 3000 millimeters, 3300 millimeters, 3600 millimeters, 3900 millimeters, or 4200 millimeters, among others. Among these, 4200 millimeters is the maximum length limit for prefabricated panels, and lengths exceeding this require custom production. Adhering to length modulus rules helps improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure proper alignment between panels.
