Spain Launches Mobile Toilets

Admin September 24, 2026

Spain has introduced various types of mobile toilets to address sanitation issues.

The first type is a mobile toilet designed to tackle the problem of long queues at women's restrooms. It has a unique appearance, resembling a round pizza, which not only provides a visually novel experience but may also optimize space utilization to some extent. This mobile toilet features three entrances, each equipped with two toilets. This layout increases the toilet capacity, helping to alleviate long queues at women's restrooms, improve usage efficiency, and meet the sanitation needs of more people simultaneously.

The second type is The Throne, a mobile toilet created by the Spanish studio Nagami. It utilizes advanced 3D printing technology, making the manufacturing process more precise and efficient, allowing for the accurate creation of each component according to a pre-designed model. Moreover, the raw materials for this mobile toilet are sourced from discarded medical equipment from hospitals across Europe. This approach of turning waste into treasure is both environmentally friendly and resource-saving, reducing the pressure of waste on the environment while providing new ideas and material sources for the manufacturing of mobile toilets. Currently, The Throne mobile toilet is undergoing trials at a construction site in the Swiss Alps, indicating its practicality and adaptability in different environments and scenarios.

The third type is mobile toilets used during the peak tourist season. In some Spanish cities, such as La Coruña, mobile cabins are brought in to serve as temporary toilets. During the peak tourist season, when the number of tourists increases significantly, the existing public toilet facilities often struggle to meet the demand. The introduction of these mobile cabins effectively solves the sanitation problem for tourists, ensuring the smooth progress of tourism activities and enhancing the overall tourist experience.
