Sound Insulation Design of Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The sound insulation design of container houses requires a comprehensive approach from three aspects: material selection, structural optimization, and sealing treatment, as detailed below:

Material Selection

  • Wall Materials: Ordinary iron-sheet containers have poor sound insulation. High-quality container houses incorporate sound-insulating, shock-absorbing, and sealing layers in the walls and ceilings, such as acoustic panels, soundproof felt, and rock wool. These materials offer excellent sound absorption and insulation properties, significantly reducing the spread and diffusion of noise.
  • Door and Window Materials: Doors and windows are major pathways for noise transmission. Double-glazed, insulated aluminum windows should be selected, as their sound insulation performance is superior to that of ordinary single-glazed windows, effectively blocking external noise.

Structural Optimization

  • Adding Sound Insulation Structures: By reasonably designing sound insulation structures, such as adding sound insulation cavities and installing sound insulation partitions, the conduction path of noise can be further blocked. For example, creating an air layer within the walls utilizes the elastic deformation of air to absorb and dissipate sound energy.
  • Avoiding Resonance: During the design and modification of container houses, interference and resonance phenomena between structural components should be avoided to reduce noise generated by resonance.

Sealing Treatment

  • Joint Sealing: The joints between panels, the edges around doors and windows, and the roof拼接 (splicing) positions are major channels for noise and air infiltration. Sealant should be used for full sealing to ensure continuous, break-free sealing of joints, reducing noise transmission through gaps.
  • Drainage Slope Design: A reasonable drainage slope should be designed to ensure smooth rainwater drainage, preventing steel plate corrosion and noise caused by water accumulation. Additionally, panels should be overlapped in the direction of water flow to further enhance sealing performance.
