Small Container House Design Drawings

For small container house design drawings and related design points, refer to the following content:

I. Typical Small Container House Design Cases
15㎡ Forest Container Cottage
- Exterior: Based on a dark blue container, with front and rear doors plus a middle door connecting to a patio, creating a transparent outdoor interaction space. The four corners of the roof are equipped with lifting rods for flexible height adjustment, and solar panels are installed on top for both functionality and environmental protection.
- Interior: Adopts a minimalist style with natural wood colors. The linear kitchen is equipped with double-door cabinets and open shelving to meet basic cooking needs. The bedroom bed is designed as a foldable structure, serving as a sofa during the day and unfolding into a double bed at night. Numerous storage cabinets are installed on the top and sides to maximize vertical space utilization.
16.6㎡ Prairie Container Cabin
- Exterior: Covered with cedar board anti-corrosion wood veneer, the iron door is transformed into a four-layer tempered glass sliding door to enhance lighting and visual transparency. The interior is decorated with white wood veneer on the walls and wooden flooring on the ground, creating a warm and natural atmosphere.
- Layout: A custom sofa on the left hides a wall bed, while a brown small cabinet on the right serves as a load-bearing structure and also provides storage. The kitchen and office area are adjacent, with ample countertop space, embedded with a small refrigerator and a mini washer-dryer combo. The bathroom uses a barn sliding door to reduce space occupation and improve usage efficiency.
II. Designer Works and Innovative Applications
- Diversified Space Design
- Design firms such as Huanian Design Office and Yanxu Design Agency provide detailed space design drawings for studies, secondary bedrooms, kitchen islands, etc. For example, kitchen islands can combine storage and operational functions, while balcony gardens can enhance the living experience by combining greenery with leisure areas.
- Modularization and Customization
- Container architecture supports modular design, allowing for different needs to be met through stacking, cutting, or removing side walls. For example, Distill Studio constructed an office building with 32 containers, including 12 offices and a cantilevered conference room. ENS_projects' "Periscope Project" used five containers to form a mixed-use cooperative, defining an outdoor courtyard and a second-floor platform.
- Processed containers need to be sealed and insulated, with the exterior paintable or clad with materials (such as wood or metal) to enhance aesthetics. The interior is divided into functional areas such as office, living, or public activity spaces according to needs.
III. Core Design Points
- Space Utilization: Optimize the usage efficiency of small areas through foldable furniture, vertical storage, and multifunctional areas (such as combining the kitchen and office area).
- Lighting and Ventilation: Adopt glass doors, skylights, or side windows, combined with natural ventilation systems, to improve the sense of oppression caused by the airtightness of containers.
- Environmental Protection and Sustainability: Integrate green technologies such as solar panels and rainwater collection systems to reduce energy consumption. Select renewable or recycled materials (such as anti-corrosion wood and recycled metal) to reduce environmental impact.
