Small Cars Are Not Mobile Toilets

Admin October 12, 2026

Small cars themselves are not mobile toilets, but there are vehicle-mounted mobile toilets and modified mobile toilet vehicles that are compatible with vehicles. These can be divided into the following two categories:

I. Vehicle-mounted Mobile Toilets (Compatible with Ordinary Vehicles)
These facilities are specifically designed for vehicle use scenarios and usually exist in modular form. They can be flexibly installed in small cars or ordinary vehicles and are mainly divided into three types:

  1. Folding Type: Made of lightweight alloys or high-strength plastics, these toilets are lightweight and easy to store. When in use, they can be unfolded to form an independent toilet space, suitable for temporary use in small vehicles, such as during short stops on self-drive tours. Their advantage lies in not occupying fixed space inside the vehicle, but attention should be paid to fixing stability to avoid shaking during driving.
  2. Fixed Type: Mostly installed inside RVs or large vehicles, these toilets are connected to the vehicle body structure through bolts or welding. They are equipped with flushing systems (such as a combination of water tanks and pumps) or sewage discharge devices (such as black water tanks), with functions close to those of home bathrooms. However, the water tanks and sewage tanks need to be cleaned regularly. Due to their large space occupation, they are difficult to install directly in ordinary small cars.
  3. Chemical Type: The core principle is to treat excrement harmlessly through chemical agents (such as deodorants and decomposing enzymes) to reduce odors and bacterial growth. Their structure usually includes a sealed container, an agent dispensing port, and an exhaust device, suitable for long-term use scenarios (such as long-distance transportation or field operations). Some models can be connected to the vehicle's power supply to achieve automatic stirring and ventilation functions.

II. Mobile Toilet Vehicles (Special Modified Models)
These products are modified based on vans (such as Iveco, Ford Transit, etc.) by removing the original seats and adding bathroom modules (including toilets, sinks, ventilation systems, etc.). Their characteristics include:

  • Independent Space: After modification, a closed bathroom area is formed inside the vehicle, isolated from the driving cabin, with strong privacy;
  • Complete Functions: Some high-end models are equipped with hot and cold water supply, air conditioning systems, and real-time sewage treatment devices, which can meet the needs of multiple people using them continuously;
  • Usage Restrictions: They fall into the category of special vehicles and need to comply with the regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law on modified vehicles (such as not changing the vehicle body structure and passing annual inspections). Moreover, the cost of purchasing and modifying these vehicles is relatively high. They are usually used in scenarios such as municipal sanitation and large-scale event support, and there is an essential difference in definition from ordinary small cars.
