Sliding Door for Toilet
Sliding doors are highly suitable for toilets, especially in small-space toilets where they offer significant advantages. Below are their core features and installation considerations:

1. Space Utilization Advantages
Sliding doors open and close through horizontal sliding, with the space required for door operation concentrated on a single plane. This avoids the issue of traditional swing doors taking up extra space due to outward or inward door-panel movement. For example, when a small bathroom uses a suspended sliding door, the door panel can be hidden behind a side wall or cabinet, occupying no passage space at all, making it particularly suitable for compact bathroom layouts.
2. Installation Size Limitations
- Doorway Width: The recommended standard doorway width is 700mm. If using a single-sided sliding door, a minimum clear width of 650mm is required to accommodate door-panel sliding. If the doorway width is insufficient (e.g., less than 600mm), a double-leaf sliding door may not be installable due to space constraints, in which case a single-leaf sliding door is a better choice.
- Doorway Height: A doorway height below 1.95 meters can create a sense of oppression and affect the user experience. If using a suspended sliding door (e.g., a top-hung track door), ensure at least 12 centimeters of height is reserved above the doorway for track installation, and the total wall height should reach at least 207 centimeters; otherwise, the door panel may not slide properly due to insufficient track installation space.
3. Material and Safety Considerations
- Tracks and Rollers: The smoothness of a sliding door's operation depends on the quality of its tracks and rollers. Poor-quality tracks are prone to deformation, and low-wear rollers can lead to sticking, loud noise, or even door-panel derailment, posing safety hazards. It is recommended to choose stainless steel or aluminum alloy tracks paired with high-density nylon rollers to enhance durability and stability.
- Door Panel Material: Various materials are available for bathroom sliding doors on the market. Aluminum alloy is waterproof, moisture-resistant, and cost-effective; PVC is lightweight but prone to aging; wooden doors offer a high-quality feel but require proper moisture-proofing. Prices range from tens of yuan (for simple PVC materials) to over a thousand yuan (for high-end aluminum alloy or solid wood materials), depending on budget and needs.
4. Suitable Scenario Recommendations
Sliding doors are best suited for space-constrained bathrooms, such as those in apartments, hotels, or renovated old houses. If the bathroom area is large (e.g., over 5 square meters), a combination of swing and sliding doors can be considered. For example, the master bathroom can use a swing door for privacy, while the guest bathroom can use a sliding door to enhance space flexibility.
