Size of Living Container House

Admin September 16, 2026

The sizes of living container houses vary, with common standard dimensions being 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 to 2.9 meters in height, in addition to various custom sizes.

Standard Sizes

  • 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 to 2.9 meters in height: This is a relatively common standard size for living container houses on the market, with an area of approximately 18 square meters. For example, the container dormitories used in the Nagoya Asian Games were 13 meters long and 3 meters wide, with each unit divided into two households, each approximately 6.5 meters long and 3 meters wide (with some differences due to division in actual use). Container houses commonly found on construction sites are also mostly of this size, accommodating about 10 people and suitable for use as worker dormitories, toilets, kitchens, etc. There are also containers used for temporary office spaces, with specifications of 3m6m2.7m, an internal clear height of about 2.6 meters, and an expanded area of about 18 square meters, just enough to fit a double bed, a simple desk, and a standing wardrobe, without feeling cramped or wasteful of space. They are easy to hoist, compliant with transportation regulations, and have smooth internal circulation, making them the "versatile basic model" referred to by many experienced workers.

Other Common Sizes

  • 3 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height: With an area of 9 square meters, this size is relatively small and is mostly used for construction site guard posts, small warehouses for storing items, etc.
  • 7 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height: With an area of 21 square meters, this size is mostly used as a two-story container mobile home, featuring corridors and balconies.

Custom Sizes

Living container houses can also be customized according to customer needs, with sizes and areas that can be large or small. For example, there are various specifications such as 3m3m, 3m8m, and 3m*9m, mainly designed according to customer requirements and then produced after finalizing the plan. For some special projects, container houses of different sizes are customized according to site and functional requirements to meet diverse usage scenarios.
