Single-Axle Trailer Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

A single-axle trailer container house is a modified container connected by a single-axle trailer system, which is movable and features modularity, mobility, and strong adaptability. The following is an introduction from the aspects of structure, function, application scenarios, and technical points:

Structure and Types

Single-axle trailer container houses are usually modified from standard containers (such as 20-foot or 40-foot ones) and can be moved via a single-axle trailer system. Their structures can be divided into two categories:

  1. Fixed type: The container body structure is non-deformable. Internal partitions and electrical systems are installed through factory production, making it suitable for long-term fixed use scenarios.
  2. Variable type: The container body wall panels can be flipped, extended, or rotated (such as expandable shops and display boxes). The use space is expanded through deformation, offering higher flexibility.
According to the material, they are commonly made of steel containers (highly durable and low-cost), with some using aluminum alloys (lightweight but high-cost) or composite sandwich panels (excellent thermal insulation performance).

Functions and Uses

Based on usage requirements, single-axle trailer container houses can be customized into various functional types:

  • Accommodation type: Used for construction site dormitories, temporary housing, tourist homestays, etc., equipped with beds, toilets, and other living facilities inside.
  • Office type: Serve as mobile offices and meeting rooms to meet temporary office needs.
  • Commercial service type: Modified into shops, cafes, exhibition halls, etc., with space expanded through horizontal container connection or vertical stacking.
  • Special type: Such as medical containers (equipped with basic medical equipment), equipment containers (for storing precision instruments), and explosion-proof/refrigerated containers (for use in special environments).

Application Scenarios and Advantages

  1. Temporary and mobile needs: Suitable for construction sites, disaster areas, exhibitions, and other scenarios requiring rapid deployment. The trailer system supports multimodal transport by cars, trains, airplanes, etc., offering convenient transportation.
  2. Spatial adaptability: By combining methods such as single-container placement, horizontal container connection, and vertical stacking, diverse architectural forms (such as L-shaped and U-shaped enclosures) can be created to meet different scale requirements.
  3. Cost and efficiency: Modular design shortens the construction period, and standardized production reduces material waste, resulting in a lower overall cost compared to traditional buildings.

Technical Points and Specifications

  1. Load-bearing and dimensions: A standard 20-foot container has a load-bearing capacity of about 25 tons and a relatively low indoor clear height (about 2.3-2.5 meters). During modification, space utilization needs to be optimized (such as through raised designs and built-in furniture).
  2. Environmental adaptability: Parameters such as operating temperature (-40°C to +45°C), wind resistance rating (below level 7), and water immersion depth need to be considered to ensure stability in extreme environments.
  3. Safety standards: It needs to comply with international container transport specifications (such as ISO standards) and building safety requirements, including electrical systems, fire protection facilities, and structural strength.
