Simple Mobile Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Simple mobile toilets can be made in various ways, with common methods including modifying water storage barrels or tanks, or choosing commercially available foldable products.

Making with Water Storage Barrels

  1. Basic Structure Construction: Select a household water storage barrel and split it in half lengthwise with an angle grinder. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility; use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to increase the height of the barrel, forming a frame.
  2. Wall and Roof Construction: Open a doorway on the side of the water storage barrel, install sponge strips to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards to create raised walls; place the split upper half of the barrel on top of the wooden strips as a roof, and apply white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics.
  3. Functional Component Installation:
    • Drainage System: Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel to install a drain pipe as a floor drain, and drill holes on the side and bottom to connect direct fittings, with an external plastic barrel serving as a small water storage device.
    • Bathing Facilities: Use water pipes to make a simple shower heater, install a three-way fitting below the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead; extend the outlet pipe three-way horizontally to the doorway as an inlet pipe for a sink, and install fittings and hoses.
    • Toilet and Fixing: Place the toilet and install the water tank, fixing it with glass glue; connect the drain pipe to the sewage barrel to ensure tightness.

Making with Water Storage Tanks and Pallets

  1. Mobile Chassis Preparation: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a pallet and place a water storage tank recovered from a garbage station.
  2. Tank Modification: Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line on the top of the water storage tank, remove the top to form an open tank; invert and stack another open tank, and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws.
  3. Functional Integration:
    • Drainage and Toilet: Drill a hole in the floor inside the tank, insert an elbow and connect a water pipe, seal the gaps, and install the toilet, aligning it with the drain and fixing it with glue.
    • Faucet and Sink: Fix a water pipe on the wall with clips and install a faucet; fix a pipe cap with screws below, drill a hole as an outlet for the drain pipe; drill a hole in the pipe cap, apply glass glue, and fix a stainless steel basin as a sink.
    • Other Components: Connect the inlet pipe of the toilet water tank and the shower hose, install brackets and toilet seats; bring a wooden board to fix hinges, connect it with the tank frame to form a door, and install a door handle.

Commercially Available Foldable Mobile Toilets

For a more convenient solution, choose a lightweight foldable mobile toilet. Its frame is made of stainless steel, which is lightweight and can be lifted with one hand. When folded, it has a small volume, suitable for temporary use or scenarios with limited space. Some products are equipped with automatic sensing functions to enhance the user experience.

When making, pay attention to the safe use of tools (such as angle grinder operation), ensure the tightness of the drainage system to avoid leakage; for commercially available products, pay attention to material durability and load-bearing capacity.
