Simple Container House Door Lock

Admin September 15, 2026

The common types and unlocking methods of simple container house door locks need to be determined according to the lock structure, mainly including fixed, lifting, adjustable, and plug-in twist locks, with different operation methods for each type. Here are the specific descriptions:

Fixed Twist Lock

The fixed twist lock is usually directly welded to the container body, and the lock head can only rotate without vertical movement. To unlock, rotate the lock handle to the unlocking angle (usually 90 degrees or 70 degrees) to make the lock head disengage from the fixed hole of the container corner fitting. This type of lock has a simple structure, but it is necessary to ensure the accurate rotation angle; otherwise, the container may not be able to separate due to the lock head not being fully disengaged.

Lifting Twist Lock

The lifting twist lock is connected to the container body through a bracket, and the lock head has both rotation and vertical telescoping functions. When operating, first push the handle vertically to lift the lock head and insert it into the inner cavity of the container corner fitting, and then rotate it to the specified angle to complete the locking; when unlocking, perform the reverse operation, first rotate the handle to the unlocking angle, and then pull the handle vertically downward to make the lock head exit the corner fitting. This type of lock is suitable for containers of different specifications, but it is necessary to pay attention to the force of vertical pushing to avoid the lock head getting stuck.

Adjustable Twist Lock

The adjustable twist lock allows for the adjustment of the fastening position through hinge or mobile design to improve vehicle utilization. The unlocking method is similar to that of the fixed type, requiring the rotation of the handle to the unlocking angle, but it is necessary to additionally confirm whether the lock is in an adjustable state (such as whether the bracket is loose). This type of lock is mostly used in scenarios where containers need to be frequently replaced. When operating, ensure that the adjustment mechanism is not damaged; otherwise, it may affect the unlocking efficiency.

Plug-in Twist Lock

The lock shaft of the plug-in twist lock is similar to a bolt and needs to be inserted into the fixed part of the container body and used in combination with other twist locks. To unlock, first rotate or pull the lock shaft to make it exit the fixed hole, and then operate other matching locks to complete the unlocking. This type of lock has high security, but the operation steps are relatively complex. It is necessary to ensure that all matching locks are in the unlocked state; otherwise, the container may not be able to separate due to some locks not being opened.

Precautions: Before operation, confirm the type of lock to avoid damaging the lock or the container due to misoperation; if the lock has a tightening device, reverse rotate it to loosen the pressing mechanism before unlocking; regularly check the wear of the lock and replace aging parts in a timely manner to ensure safety.
