Ship Environmental Protection Portable Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Ship environmental protection portable toilets mainly include several types: marine sanitary units, vacuum toilet sewage pump-related toilet systems, and waterless composting toilets, each with its unique characteristics.

Marine Sanitary Units: These are modular sanitary cabins assembled from sanitary equipment and enclosure panels, which can be installed as a whole and used independently. They include a steel frame, chassis, and internal equipment, and are classified into integral and assembled types based on installation methods. Using standardized modular design, they can fit various ship types and are equipped with built-in sensors for real-time monitoring of operational data. The innovative microbial degradation equipment developed for marine applications is a highlight, decomposing sewage through microbial communities to form harmless residues, enabling closed-loop management of onboard treatment and shore-based residue collection. In March 2025, the first national type approval certificate for marine microbial degradation sanitary units was issued; in May of the same year, the first domestic marine microbial degradation sanitary unit equipment completed shipboard testing, marking significant progress in the practical application of this technology.

Vacuum Toilet Sewage Pump-Related Toilet Systems: The vacuum toilet sewage pump is the core power unit of the ship's toilet sewage system, utilizing 'vacuum negative pressure suction' technology to rapidly transfer toilet sewage to storage tanks within a very short time, ensuring fast drainage and effectively reducing the retention time of sewage in pipelines, addressing issues of odor and clogging common in traditional drainage systems. Additionally, the vacuum drainage method requires only a small amount of water for flushing, saving over 70% of water compared to traditional direct-flush toilets. Furthermore, these pumps can be paired with biodegradation toilet systems to combine sewage drainage with degradation treatment, further enhancing environmental protection.

Waterless Composting Toilets: These include products such as stainless steel composting toilets with plastic bag packaging and marine waterless dry toilets, which do not require water for flushing, saving significant water resources; they also do not require electricity and prevent odor leakage, ensuring hygiene and comfort. For example, products produced by Botou Junke Metal Products Co., Ltd. are mostly made of stainless steel and consist of components such as an outer cylinder, feces collection box, foot-pedal linkage mechanism, gear transmission mechanism, packaging cam, fiberglass inner cylinder, feces collection bag, and top cover plate, featuring a reasonable structure and ease of use.
