Shijiazhuang Container House Dimensions

Admin September 14, 2026

Common sizes of Shijiazhuang container houses fall into three categories: international standards, sizes commonly used on domestic construction sites, and customized sizes, as follows:

1. International Standard Container Sizes (ISO 668 System) These sizes apply to export or standardized transport scenarios and must strictly follow international specifications:

  • 20-foot standard container (20GP): Internal dimensions approx. 5.898 m (L) × 2.352 m (W) × 2.393 m (H), volume approx. 33 cubic meters.
  • 40-foot standard container (40GP): Internal dimensions approx. 12.032 m (L) × 2.352 m (W) × 2.393 m (H), volume approx. 67 cubic meters.
  • 40-foot high cube (40HC/HQ): Internal dimensions approx. 12.032 m (L) × 2.352 m (W) × 2.698 m (H), volume approx. 76 cubic meters; the increased height can accommodate more cargo or provide more space.

2. Common Sizes for Domestic Construction Sites Aimed at temporary building needs in China, these sizes emphasize practicality and rapid assembly:

  • Standard residential container: Internal dimensions typically 2.8 m (W) × 5.8 m (L) × 2.6 m (H), suitable for construction site dormitories, temporary offices, and similar uses, with a compact layout.
  • Quick-assemble modular portable buildings: Internal dimensions often 3 m (W) × 6 m (L) × 2.8 m (H); modular design enables rapid assembly and suits short-term temporary construction needs.

3. Customized Sizes Flexibly adjusted to functional requirements, commonly seen in commercial or special scenarios:

  • Commercial use: Such as cafes and shops; common internal dimensions are 3 m × 6 m or 3 m × 12 m, with space expanded by joining units.
  • Special requirements: Wider containers (width extended to 2.8-3.2 m) or extra-long containers (requiring sectional transport) can be customized, but transport limits (e.g., road height limit of 4.5 m) and wall thickness (typically 50 mm-75 mm) must be considered for their effect on actual dimensions.

Notes:

  • Actual dimensions may vary slightly due to manufacturer design or transport limits. Export containers must comply with ISO 668:2020; for domestic use, refer to the common specifications above.
  • Custom designs should be discussed with the manufacturer in advance to ensure structural safety and compliance.
