Shenzhen East Station is equipped with a smart and eco-friendly portable toilet, located on the F1 floor of Shenzhen East Station at 94 Jihua Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen. It is the first facility of its kind to be put into use in the city.

The portable toilet consists of four independent toilet compartments, including three unisex compartments (with two seated toilets and one squat toilet) and one maternity room. Each compartment covers an area of approximately 1.5 square meters and is fully equipped with basic facilities such as toilets, sinks, hand dryers, and air conditioners. Additionally, it features user-friendly devices such as storage shelves, coat hooks, emergency call buttons, and mirrors, ensuring both practicality and convenience. The maternity room further meets the needs of special groups, reflecting the humanistic care in design.
II. Intelligent Functional Design
The toilet employs an automatic door opening and closing system along with voice broadcast reminders. Each user is limited to a maximum usage time of 15 minutes, with automatic voice prompts issued as the time limit approaches. The exterior door of each compartment displays a progress bar indicating the remaining usage time to prevent long-term occupation. Its core technology, protected by independent patents, enables water-free plumbing and rapid mobile assembly, with installation completed in just 15 minutes. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor scenarios such as bus stops, municipal parks, exhibition centers, and subway platforms, adapting flexibly to different environmental needs.
III. Eco-Friendly and Resource Recycling Technologies
The facility achieves a water-saving rate of over 70% through a greywater recycling system and air hand-washing devices, significantly reducing water consumption. The feces collected in the collection tank can be directly converted into organic fertilizer after dehydration treatment, realizing waste resource utilization. Additionally, the self-developed deodorization device effectively improves air quality, reduces odor diffusion, and enhances the user experience.
