At the Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi, innovative measures were taken during the May Day holiday to alleviate toilet pressure. Due to the large number of visitors during the holiday, long queues for women's toilets were a prominent issue. The scenic area temporarily converted one of the men's restrooms with the highest foot traffic at the entrance into a women's restroom and set up a bus outside as a temporary men's restroom. This measure achieved remarkable results, with the average daily restroom attendance increasing from about 3,000 to 5,000 people, significantly alleviating the toilet difficulties for visitors. Moreover, this measure may be continued during future holidays to better cope with toilet demands during peak visitor periods.
