In the rectification work for problematic rural household toilets in Shangzhi City in 2023, the renovation of mobile functional toilets involved multiple townships and different types. The steel-structure dry toilet was one of the most frequently renovated types, with renovations carried out in Wujimi Township, Mayan Township, Yabuli Town, Yuanbao Town, Weihe Town, and Heilonggong Town, with a subsidy of 2,000 yuan per household. This type of toilet typically uses a steel-structure frame, offering structural stability and convenient installation, making it suitable for promotion in rural areas.

Purification tank indoor toilets were renovated in Wujimi Township and Yuanbao Town, with a subsidy of 4,500 yuan per household. These toilets treat sewage through purification tanks, achieving environmental protection and hygiene, and improving the quality of life for rural residents.

In Changshou Township, 8 new outdoor dry toilets were renovated, with a subsidy of 2,200 yuan per household. These new outdoor dry toilets may adopt more advanced environmental protection technologies and design concepts, such as microbial degradation, vacuum suction, or foam sealing environmental flushing technologies, further enhancing the environmental performance and user experience of the toilets.

In addition, 14 brick-concrete structure dry toilets were renovated in Weihe Town, with a subsidy of 3,000 yuan per household. Although brick-concrete structure dry toilets are not as mobile and easy to install as steel-structure dry toilets, they have a more robust structure and a longer service life, making them suitable for construction in places requiring long-term use.

Mobile functional toilets generally feature mobility, easy installation, and flexible turnover, with common materials including color-coated steel plates, fiberglass, stainless steel, and environmentally friendly resins. These toilets can maintain structural stability and normal function within a temperature range of -20°C to 50°C, adapting to the complex and variable climatic conditions in rural areas.
