Mobile Toilets in Shanghai Expo Park

Admin October 07, 2026

There are 1000 independent mobile toilets in Shanghai Expo Park, with various types of solutions provided by companies such as Huajie, featuring flexibility and environmental protection.

Quantity and Configuration of Mobile Toilets

Shanghai Expo Park has set up over 8,500 fixed toilet stalls and additionally equipped 1,000 independent mobile toilets. These mobile toilets serve as a supplement to the fixed facilities, effectively alleviating the pressure on toilet usage during peak hours through flexible scheduling (such as adjusting positions based on crowd density), ensuring that visitors do not have to wait in long lines. The quantity design is based on scientific estimates of visitor flow, reflecting the park's human-oriented service considerations.

Types and Technical Features of Mobile Toilets

The mobile toilets provided by Huajie for the Expo fall into three core types:

  1. Solar-Powered Environmental Toilets: These toilets collect energy through solar panels on the roof to power internal lighting, ventilation, and other systems, reducing reliance on the traditional power grid and lowering carbon emissions.
  2. Rainwater-Harvesting Water-Saving Toilets: These toilets utilize roof water collection devices to gather rainwater, which is then filtered and used for flushing. Combined with water-saving flushing equipment, they significantly reduce water consumption.
  3. Lightweight and Assemblable Mobile Toilets: These toilets feature a modular design, allowing the main structure to be quickly assembled and disassembled for easy transportation and redeployment, adapting to the dynamic needs of different areas within the park.

All these toilets are highly mobile, equipped with wheeled devices or detachable supports on the chassis, enabling short-distance transportation by vehicles or manual handling to designated locations. Additionally, their outer shells are mostly made of high-strength lightweight materials (such as fiberglass or aluminum alloy), reducing weight while ensuring structural stability, further enhancing flexibility.

Environmental Protection and Sustainability Design

The environmental protection features of mobile toilets are integrated throughout their entire lifecycle:

  • Energy Utilization: The combination of solar systems and LED lighting reduces energy consumption; some models are equipped with batteries to ensure normal operation during cloudy or rainy weather.
  • Water Resource Management: Rainwater collection systems work in conjunction with circulation and filtration devices to achieve self-sufficiency in flushing water, reducing pressure on municipal water supplies.
  • Waste Disposal: Biodegradation technology or sealed fecal storage tanks are used to prevent odor diffusion and secondary pollution. Some models are also equipped with fecal harmless treatment devices that can directly convert waste into organic fertilizer.

Through these technologies, the mobile toilets in Shanghai Expo Park not only meet basic functional needs but also serve as a window showcasing green technology and sustainable urban management concepts.
