Analysis of Self-Service Mobile Toilet Functions
Admin October 19, 2026
Self-service mobile toilets (smart mobile toilets) are equipped with multiple functions including basic toilet use, smart control, environmental monitoring, toilet stall status sensing, environmental operation and maintenance, convenience services, energy conservation and environmental protection, and data management.

- Basic Functions: They have the toilet-using function of ordinary mobile toilets and can be moved as a whole. They can be placed at locations or venues with fixed or temporary needs to provide toilet services for the public and customers. Some ordinary mobile toilets are 1.1 meters in length and width and 2.3 meters in height, equipped with light bulb sockets, exhaust fans, air outlets, flush tanks, etc., to meet basic usage requirements.
- Smart Control and Automatic Flushing: Using the STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller as the core control part, the MSP20 water pressure and air pressure sensor is used to detect water pressure intensity, and the infrared obstacle avoidance sensor is used to detect whether someone is using the toilet. When someone uses the toilet, it flushes automatically, or it flushes automatically every 2 minutes on a timer, achieving intelligent flushing control and enhancing user convenience.
- Environmental Monitoring and Ventilation Alarm: The MQ136 hydrogen sulfide sensor is used to detect hydrogen sulfide, and the MQ137 ammonia sensor is used to detect ammonia. When ammonia or hydrogen sulfide exceeds the standard, the fan is turned on for ventilation, and at the same time, the buzzer sounds an alarm to promptly improve the air quality inside the toilet and safeguard the health of users.
- Toilet Stall Status Sensing: Equipped with smart door locks or human body sensing modules, they can identify the occupancy status of toilet stalls in real-time. The vacant stall information is displayed simultaneously through red-green indicator lights at the door and the entrance integrated screen, allowing users to quickly find vacant stalls without having to push open each door one by one, reducing queuing time.
- Environmental Operation and Maintenance: They are configured with sensors for ammonia, odors, temperature, and humidity. When indicators such as odor concentration and paper towel residue reach preset thresholds, the system automatically sends reminders to operation and maintenance personnel and simultaneously activates ventilation and deodorization equipment in a linked manner, achieving a transition from passive cleaning to proactive operation and maintenance.
- Additional Convenience Services: Some smart mobile toilets integrate functions such as mobile phone charging, emergency calls, and surrounding service navigation. Some models support connection to urban public service platforms, making it convenient for users to check the availability of stalls at locations in advance through mobile devices.
- Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection: They are usually equipped with solar power supply systems and water circulation treatment devices to reduce energy consumption and water resource waste, in line with modern environmental protection concepts.
- Data Management: Through the Internet of Things technology, usage data is uploaded to the cloud in real-time, facilitating data analysis by management personnel and optimizing operation and maintenance strategies.
