Self-made Temporary Mobile Toilet for Construction Site

Admin October 08, 2026

The self-made temporary mobile toilet for construction sites can be constructed using materials such as water storage tanks and pallets, with the following specific steps:

Step 1: Install the mobile device Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet to ensure that the mobile toilet has overall mobility. The universal wheels should be selected with a load-bearing capacity that meets the requirements of the construction site environment to avoid damage due to excessive loads.

Step 2: Modify the structure of the water storage tank

  1. Retrieve two water storage tanks from a garbage station and use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line at the top of one of the tank bodies, removing the top to form an open-top tank.
  2. Invert the other open-top water storage tank and stack it on top of the first tank body, securing the outer frame with self-tapping screws to form a double-layer sealed structure. This design enhances the stability of the toilet while utilizing the corrosion resistance of the original material of the water storage tank.

Step 3: Create a door opening Cut a rectangular opening measuring 180 centimeters in height and 50 centimeters in width on the outer frame of the water storage tank as the doorway, and cut the tank body according to the same dimensions. Ensure that the edges are smooth during cutting to avoid scratches from burrs, and sand the edges after cutting.

Step 4: Install the drainage system

  1. Make a hole in the floor inside the water storage tank, insert an elbow, and connect it to a water pipe. Seal the gaps with waterproof glue and cut off any excess water pipe.
  2. The drainage pipe should be inclined at a certain angle (recommended ≥5°) to ensure that sewage flows out naturally and avoid blockages.

Step 5: Secure sanitary facilities

  1. Place the toilet bowl aligned with the drainage outlet and secure the edges with waterproof glue to prevent leakage.
  2. Fix the water pipe with wall clips, install a faucet, secure a pipe cap with screws below, connect the water pipe, and create an outlet for the drainage pipe.
  3. Make a hole in the pipe cap, apply glass glue, and secure a stainless steel basin as a sink to ensure the tightness of the connection.

Step 6: Improve water supply equipment

  1. Connect the inlet pipe to the toilet tank to ensure a stable water supply.
  2. Connect the shower hose, install the shower bracket and toilet seat, and finally install a spray-type showerhead made from a water pipe to meet flushing needs.

Step 7: Install the door Bring a wooden board, fix hinges on the frame of the water storage tank, attach the other side of the hinges to the wooden board to form a door, and then install a door handle. The door should open and close smoothly and be equipped with a lock to ensure privacy.

This design enables rapid construction through modular assembly, with easily obtainable materials and low costs, making it suitable for temporary use on construction sites. Regular inspection of the tightness of the drainage system is necessary to prevent sewage leakage and environmental impact.
