Self-made Mobile Toilet Renovation to Toilet

Admin September 27, 2026

There are mainly three methods for renovating a self-made mobile toilet into a toilet:

I. Renovating a Squat Toilet to a Sitting Toilet This method is suitable for renovation scenarios where a squat toilet already exists. First, the squat toilet and surrounding tiles need to be removed. Use PVC pipes to extend the sewage pipe to ensure it matches the sewage outlet of the new toilet. Then, reinstall the squat toilet onto the extended sewage pipe and build a red-brick frame around it. Fill the frame with sand and smooth the surface with cement mortar. The floor needs to be retiled, and the walls can be beautified with gypsum and latex paint. The toilet seat can be made from waste materials, reinforced with 502 glue before installation, and the flush tank can be refitted from a paint bucket and fixed to the wall. Key Points: Ensure the tightness of the extended sewage pipe to prevent leakage; the red-brick frame should be sturdy to prevent the toilet from shifting.

II. Making a Mobile Sitting Toilet with PVC Pipes This method uses PVC pipes as the core material to construct the toilet frame through assembly. First, prepare four plastic lids, drill holes in them, and install wheel assemblies. Cut short pipes and connect them to the plastic lids to form the base of the support frame. Assemble the support frames on both sides using pipe fittings such as tees and elbows, embed straight pipes to form the base frame, and install wheel covers. Extend the straight pipes vertically to build the back support, install wooden footrests, bases, and backrests, and fix them with screws before adding handrails. A circular hole needs to be cut in the center of the wooden board to accommodate excretion needs. Key Points: The pipe fittings should be assembled tightly to ensure structural stability; the wheel design facilitates movement, but the tightness of the fixing screws should be checked regularly.

III. Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet This method achieves the overall toilet function by combining a water storage tank and a pallet. First, install universal wheels at the bottom of a plastic pallet, place a recycled water storage tank, and cut the top to form an opening. Stack and fix two water storage tanks, cut the outer frame to form a doorway, and cut a hole in the internal floor to install a drain elbow and water pipes. Place the toilet in alignment with the drain outlet and seal it with glue. Fix the water pipes with wall clips, install a faucet, and connect the drain pipe outlet below. The washbasin can be refitted from a stainless steel basin and fixed at the hole in the pipe cap. Finally, connect the toilet tank inlet pipe and the shower hose, and install a toilet seat and a spray showerhead. Fix wooden boards to the frame of the water storage tank to form a door and install handles. Key Points: The cutting of the water storage tank should be flat to avoid scratches; all water pipe connections should be sealed to prevent leakage; the universal wheels should be of a model with strong load-bearing capacity to ensure movement safety.
