Second-Hand Container House Repair

Admin September 17, 2026

The repair of second-hand container houses mainly includes two situations: major repairs and refurbishments, with specific repair steps as follows:

Major Repairs

  • Door Repair: If the container door is deformed, professional tools should be used to correct and repair it to ensure the door can open and close normally and has good sealing performance.
  • Door Hinge Device Handling: When the door hinge device is deformed or damaged, it should be repaired or replaced according to the degree of damage. During repair, ensure the hinge is installed accurately and moves flexibly; if the damage is severe and cannot be repaired, replace it with a new hinge device.
  • Door Lock Replacement: When the door lock cannot be repaired and related components are damaged, a new door lock must be replaced. Choose a product that matches the original door lock specifications and is of reliable quality to ensure the safety and reliability of the door lock.
  • Container Body Panel Repair: For partial damage to the side panels, wall panels, door panels, roof panels, and floor panels of the container, leveling, welding, or excavation and welding treatments should be carried out. Leveling should ensure the flatness of the panels, and welding should be firm to ensure the integrity of the container body structure.
  • Weld Repair: If welds are found to be open, they should be repaired promptly. Clean impurities from the weld area, re-weld, and conduct quality inspections after welding to ensure the welds are free from cracks, pores, and other defects.
  • Paint Treatment: When the paint partially peels off, first perform paint removal and rust removal treatments to remove the old paint and rust from the surface. Then apply anti-rust paint and finally apply a similar-colored topcoat to protect the container body surface and extend its service life.

Refurbishment Steps

  • Cleaning and Inspection: Thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of the second-hand container house, removing old coatings, rust, and damaged components. At the same time, assess structural stability and waterproof sealing performance to provide a basis for subsequent repair work.
  • Maintenance and Reinforcement: Repair cracks and rusted areas of the container body and perform anti-corrosion treatment. If necessary, reinforce the container beams, floor, and door frames, and replace damaged doors and windows with new materials that have good sound insulation and heat insulation properties to improve the overall performance of the house.
  • Interior Renovation: Re-layout the space according to needs, installing partition walls, ceilings, water and electricity pipelines, and other infrastructure. Decorate the walls, floors, and ceilings, choosing environmentally friendly and durable decorative materials to create a comfortable living environment.
  • Customize Exterior Appearance: Apply novel exterior colors, add lighting fixtures, billboards, and other elements to enhance the aesthetics and practicality of the second-hand container house.
