Scenic Area Mobile Toilet Scan Code

Admin September 27, 2026

The situation of scan-code services for mobile toilets in scenic areas varies, with both convenient and inconvenient services available.

Scan-code services are convenient and efficient in some scenic areas: Some scenic areas actively innovate to provide high-quality scan-code toilet-finding services for tourists. Taking Dujiangyan Scenic Area as an example, it posts 'Smart Toilet-Finding QR Codes' at the entrances and exits of the scenic area, intersections of main roads, popular attractions, and areas with long queues. Tourists do not need to download an app; they can simply scan the code with their mobile phones or search for the 'Guyan Toilet Finder' mini-program on WeChat to obtain precise navigation through map apps like Gaode or Baidu. The system also automatically pushes the locations of the three nearest public toilets. Currently, 50 public toilet guide QR codes have been posted at locations such as Lidui Park and Guanxian Ancient City, and information on 18 public toilets has been included in the system, achieving full coverage of the core area and greatly facilitating tourists in finding toilets.

Scan-code services are inconvenient in some scenic areas: However, not all scenic areas' scan-code services satisfy tourists. There is a public restroom in Fuzhou's Guling Scenic Area that was originally only for company employees but was later opened to the public after negotiations. However, this restroom is closed except during specific times on weekdays and can only be used by scanning a code. After scanning the code, the page jumps to the 'Baba Youxuan Mall', and tourists are required to bind their mobile phone numbers, a process that is cumbersome and time-consuming. For elderly people who do not know how to use mobile phones, they cannot use the restroom at all, and there is also a risk of personal information leakage with this operation. Although the scenic area management said their original intention was to facilitate citizens and tourists, the actual effect has been unsatisfactory.

Common problems with scan-code services: In addition to the situations in the aforementioned individual scenic areas, some convenience service facilities also have problems such as embedded advertisements, prolonged processes, and excessive collection of private information during the scan-code process. These issues not only cause trouble for users but also go against the original intention of convenience services, making services that were originally intended to provide convenience cumbersome and risky.
