Mobile Toilets for Scenic Areas

Admin September 21, 2026

Mobile toilets for scenic areas are toilet facilities that can be moved as a whole and set up in places such as scenic spots. They have the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.

I. Structure and Classification Mobile toilets for scenic areas have a complex structure. Generally, they consist of a fecal sewage storage tank (or disposal device), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. There are various classification methods:

  1. By structural form: They are divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively independent and suitable for scenarios with limited space or temporary needs. Composite-structure toilets are composed of multiple single units and can meet large-scale usage requirements.
  2. By mobility method: This includes lifting and handling-type mobile toilets, which rely on external equipment (such as cranes and forklifts) for position adjustment. Powered and towed-type mobile toilets are equipped with power systems or towing devices, enabling autonomous movement or being towed by vehicles, offering higher flexibility.
  3. By sewage treatment method: They are classified into water-flush and waterless suction-type, circulating water-flush type, and dry-packing type. Water-flush types rely on a water source and clean through flushing. Waterless suction types use vacuum or negative pressure to suck up feces. Circulating water-flush types achieve water resource recycling through filtration and disinfection technologies. Dry-packing types collect feces in biodegradable bags, requiring no water source and being suitable for water-scarce areas.

II. Materials and Prices In terms of materials, wood was mainly used in the early days, and later materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene were gradually adopted. Fiberglass is lightweight, high-strength, and corrosion-resistant. Polyethylene has a relatively low cost, is easy to process, and has good environmental performance. There are significant price differences, greatly influenced by style and configuration. For example, the monthly rent for a customized color-steel-plate mobile toilet is about 300 yuan. The monthly rent per square meter for a well-decorated mobile toilet in a scenic area is 99 yuan. The unit price of a high-end customized model (such as a prefabricated cultural and tourism finished product) can reach 13,500 yuan.

III. Innovative Models

  1. Grille-style mobile toilets: They feature an independent single-room design, equipped with partitions and rain-proof corridors. They are unisex, have a higher usage frequency, and combine toilet and shower functions, adapting to multiple scenarios.
  2. Tidal toilets: They dynamically adjust the space ratio between men's and women's toilets through movable partitions to alleviate the problem of women queuing during peak hours. However, details such as sign clarity and partition stability need to be optimized, and management should be strengthened to avoid area confusion or privacy leaks.
