Safety Distance of Container Houses
The safety distance of container houses varies depending on their type and usage scenarios, and must be implemented in accordance with specific regulations. Here are the safety distance requirements for different types of container houses:

1. Ordinary Container Houses
For temporary residential use, the safety distance between ordinary container houses and permanent civilian buildings must be no less than 10 meters. If multiple container houses are built in a contiguous area, the distance between adjacent houses should be no less than 6 meters, and the side distance of a single house should be no less than 2 meters. When the total number of contiguous houses exceeds six, they should be divided into independent fire-prevention zones, with a distance of over 10 meters maintained between zones. Additionally, kitchen-type containers must be set up independently, and the distance between them and dormitory or office containers must also meet the 10-meter requirement to reduce the risk of fire spreading.
2. Energy Storage Containers
According to the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings (GB50016-2014), the fire safety distance between energy storage containers and residential buildings must be no less than 20 meters. If the fire hazard of the energy storage medium is high (e.g., lithium batteries), the distance should be further adjusted based on the actual category. For example, some high-risk scenarios may require a distance of over 30 meters, which should be determined in combination with the medium characteristics and regulatory provisions.
3. Dangerous Goods Containers
The fire prevention spacing for dangerous goods container yards must strictly comply with national standards, such as the Code for Design of Petroleum Depots and the Code for Design of Port Dangerous Goods Container Yards. The safety distance is directly related to the category and scale of dangerous goods stored in the yard. For example, flammable and explosive goods may require a spacing of over 50 meters. The specific values should be implemented in accordance with the spacing list in the standard provisions to ensure the safety of personnel-concentrated areas (e.g., residential areas and dormitories).
4. Portable Cabins (Partially Applicable to Container House Regulations)
The distance between portable cabins and hazard sources (e.g., warehouses) must be no less than 25 meters. When arranged in groups, the width of fire lanes between buildings should be no less than 6 meters, and the width of fire lanes between groups should be expanded to 10 meters to ensure emergency evacuation and firefighting operation space.
Summary: The safety distance of container houses must take into account their function, medium hazard, and surrounding environment. For ordinary residential types, 10 meters is the baseline; for energy storage types, over 20 meters is required; for dangerous goods types, strict compliance with national standards is necessary; and for portable cabins, 25 meters and fire lane requirements must be met. In practical applications, it is recommended to consult professional institutions or refer to the latest regulations based on specific scenarios to ensure compliance.
