Russian-style Portable Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Russian-style portable toilets mainly have two application scenarios: civilian and military.

Civilian Scenarios

In Russia, portable toilets generally refer to facilities that can be moved as a whole and are set up at locations with fixed or temporary needs, primarily providing toilet services for the public and customers. These portable toilets are commonly found in public places in Russia, especially tourist attractions. Due to the large volume of foot traffic at tourist spots, there is a high demand for sanitary facilities. Portable toilets can be flexibly arranged to meet the toilet needs of different areas. Moreover, portable toilets in Russia usually require a fee for use, with a single experience costing 60 rubles. This payment model can, on the one hand, maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the portable toilets, and on the other hand, reasonably control the number of users to avoid overcrowding. Their ability to be moved as a whole allows them to be reallocated among different tourist attractions according to the changes in tourist volume during peak and off-peak seasons, improving resource utilization efficiency. At the same time, the design of portable toilets also emphasizes practicality and hygiene. They are usually equipped with basic sanitary facilities inside, such as toilets and sinks, providing users with a relatively comfortable toilet environment.

Military Scenarios

On the Russia-Ukraine battlefield, portable toilets have emerged with unique military application scenarios. Russian soldiers hide inside small tents disguised as portable toilets, altering their characteristics to counter the target recognition algorithms of drones. In modern warfare, drones play a crucial role, and many drones identify targets based on pre-set image templates. As a common civilian facility, portable toilets are not on the priority list for drone strikes. The Russian military takes advantage of this characteristic by disguising small tents as portable toilets, enabling soldiers to evade drone targeting. This disguise method cleverly exploits the recognition vulnerabilities of enemy drones, reducing soldiers' exposure risks on the battlefield and increasing their chances of survival. This innovative application also reflects the flexible and diverse tactical thinking in warfare, achieving military objectives by using common civilian items for disguise.
