Rural Prefabricated Mobile Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Rural prefabricated mobile houses are a form of architecture that utilizes factory-prefabricated components assembled on-site, featuring mobility or detachability. Common types include light steel villas, movable panel houses, and new energy mobile houses, with brands such as Baitai and Dingsheng. Materials involved include light steel and color-coated steel, and their uses cover scenarios like offices and homestays.

I. Core Types and Structural Characteristics

  1. Light Steel Villa Category
    Using light steel as the framework and combining with enclosure materials such as aluminum-plastic panels and color-coated panels, it forms a style resembling ancient Chinese courtyards or modern integrated homestays. For example, outdoor integrated mobile houses adopt modular design, allowing for customizable indoor layouts suitable for scenic spots and rural areas. Their advantages lie in lightweight structures, strong earthquake resistance, and short construction periods (usually ranging from a few days to a few weeks).

  2. Movable Panel House Category
    Temporary buildings with light steel frameworks and sandwich panels (such as EPS foam and rock wool) as enclosure materials, enabling rapid assembly through standard modular design and bolt connections. Typical types include:

  • Cement Movable Houses: With steel structure bearing, they have a stable foundation and are suitable for long-term use scenarios;
  • Phosphorus-Magnesium Movable Houses: Made of lightweight and low-cost materials, they have weaker thermal insulation performance and are mostly used in temporary construction sites;
  • Color-Coated Steel Panel Movable Houses: Utilizing color-coated polyethylene foam sandwich panels, they excel in thermal insulation, with a service life of 10-20 years, making them the most widely used type.
  1. New Energy Mobile Houses
    Integrating solar power generation systems based on factory prefabrication, they achieve energy self-sufficiency. For instance, some models are equipped with photovoltaic panels and energy storage devices, meeting the demand for convenient mobility while complying with energy conservation and environmental protection trends. The indoor layout also supports customized design.

II. Material and Performance Differences

Material selection directly affects house performance:

  • Light Steel/Steel Structure: High strength and good earthquake resistance, but requiring anti-corrosion treatment;
  • Color-Coated Steel/Aluminum Panels: Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, suitable for humid environments;
  • Sandwich Panels: EPS foam is low-cost but has poor fire resistance, while rock wool panels have excellent fire resistance but are more expensive.
    For example, a 5 cm 950-type EPS sandwich panel costs about 35 yuan per meter, while a single-slope flat-top color-coated steel house costs about 230 yuan per square meter. Galvanized components can be recycled for 20 years, reflecting the impact of materials on cost and durability.

III. Application Scenarios and Adaptability

  1. Terrain Adaptability: Movable panel houses can adapt to complex terrains such as hillsides and grasslands through modular design, with flexible area customization (15-160 square meters);
  2. Functional Extensibility: Light steel villas can be transformed into homestays or office spaces, while new energy mobile houses are suitable for areas without grid coverage;
  3. Temporary and Long-Term Use: Movable panel houses are mostly used for temporary housing on construction sites, while color-coated steel panel movable houses and light steel villas can meet long-term living needs.
