Placement Orientation of Rural Mobile Toilets

Admin October 09, 2026

There are many considerations in Feng Shui regarding the placement orientation of rural mobile toilets. Proper placement helps create a good living environment and Feng Shui pattern.

Firstly, it is not advisable to face the toilet door directly at the front door. If the toilet door faces the front door directly, it is considered inauspicious and may affect the fortune and living environment of the entire family. Remedies include planting large-leaved plants such as green plants or bamboo in front of the house; if the neighbor's toilet door faces your front door, you can hang an Eight Trigrams mirror or a copper gourd on your wall or front door.

Secondly, it is advisable to place the toilet in a concealed location. The toilet should be placed at the back of the house, or in relatively concealed locations such as the left-rear or right-rear, to avoid being too conspicuous. If, due to special circumstances, the toilet has to be placed at the front, you can plant one or two trees in front of the toilet to block the view and always keep the toilet door closed.

Thirdly, the toilet door should not face west. In Feng Shui, the west is regarded as a place of decline. A toilet door facing west may bring negative energy and affect the fortune and health of family members.

Fourthly, avoid placing the toilet in the center of the yard or directly facing the front door. The toilet should not be located in the center of the yard or directly facing the front door to prevent negative energy from rushing directly into the main house and affecting the fortune of family members.

Fifthly, it is suitable to place the toilet in the southwest corner or the north. When building a house in the countryside, the toilet can be placed in the southwest corner of the house. Considering natural factors such as sunlight exposure, terrain, and wind direction, the southwest corner usually avoids odors from blowing into the living area. From the perspective of Feng Shui, the southwest belongs to the earth element, and placing the toilet in the southwest corner may reduce the negative impact on the overall Feng Shui of the home; the north is also a suitable choice. In the Five Elements theory, the north is usually considered to belong to the water element, which does not conflict with the nature of the toilet. Placing it in the north helps improve the Feng Shui pattern of the entire house.
