Rural Mobile Toilet with Iron Sheet

There are mainly two types of solutions for rural mobile toilets with iron sheets: finished mobile toilets and self-built iron-sheet toilets, each with its own characteristics.

Finished Mobile Toilets

• Structural Material: It adopts an iron-sheet foam composite material. The outer layer is a 0.8mm thick galvanized steel sheet that has been treated with baking paint, which is rust-resistant and corrosion-resistant. The inner layer is filled with polyurethane foam, providing both thermal insulation and sound insulation. The main frame is a steel keel structure that can be quickly assembled with bolts. It has dimensions of 1200×1200×2300mm and weighs only 40kg, making it easy to handle and load/unload.
• Internal Configuration: It is equipped with anti-slip floors, stainless steel squat toilets, exhaust fans, and LED lighting. Some models can also be fitted with solar panel power supply systems.
• Drainage System: It adopts a dual-mode design with a fecal storage tank and a drainage pipe. The fecal storage tank has a capacity of about 200L and is suitable for scenarios without a sewer system, requiring regular cleaning. The drainage pipe can be connected to municipal pipelines, suitable for fixed campsites.
• Advantages: The modular design allows for combination according to needs, and a single unit can be expanded into a multi-row layout. The materials are environmentally friendly, with the iron-sheet foam structure having a recyclability rate of up to 85%, reducing construction waste. It has strong adaptability, with the baking-painted surface able to withstand temperature differences from -20℃ to 50℃ and function normally in extreme environments. It has good airtightness, effectively blocking the spread of odors, and the exhaust fan has an air exchange efficiency of 120 cubic meters per hour, meeting the usage needs of 10 people per hour.
• Price: The price of a simple color-steel mobile toilet is about 600 to 850 yuan per unit (with dimensions of approximately 1.1 meters × 1.1 meters).

Self-built Iron-sheet Toilets

• Solution Selection: Build an iron-sheet shed and construct an underground septic tank as a配套 (supporting) facility, offering more customization options.
• Budget: Consider the costs of iron-sheet sheets, frames, septic tank construction materials, and labor. A stainless steel squat toilet with an odor-proof function costs about 325 yuan.
• Construction Steps: Scientific site selection and foundation preparation. There are requirements for the location of the septic tank. After digging the pit, compact it and lay a concrete垫层 (base layer). For the septic tank system, a three-chamber septic tank is recommended, with proper waterproofing of the tank body, pipe installation, and ventilation. For the upper structure and facility installation, build a platform around the squat slot, erect the iron-sheet shed frame and install the sheets, fix the squat toilet and connect the pipes. For acceptance and initial use, check the interface sealing, pipe patency, and exhaust pipe installation.
