How to Build a Rural Mobile Toilet

Admin October 06, 2026

There are mainly two ways to build a rural mobile toilet: self-made movable restrooms and overall finished installations without civil engineering.

Self-made Movable Restrooms

  1. Basic Frame Construction: Prepare a pallet as the bottom support structure. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the pallet bottom for easy movement of the toilet. Place storage tanks recovered from garbage stations, which will serve as the main water storage and functional component carriers for the toilet.
  2. Tank Processing: Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked lines on the top of the storage tanks to form open-top tanks. Stack two open-top storage tanks upside down and use self-tapping screws to fix the outer frame to enhance structural stability.
  3. Doorway Creation: Cut a rectangular doorway with a height of 180 cm and a width of 50 cm on the tank body for easy personnel access.
  4. Internal Facility Installation: Drill a hole in the interior floor, insert an elbow, and connect a water pipe for sealing. Install a toilet and fix it to ensure stability during use. Fix water pipes on the wall with clips and install a faucet. Connect a pipe cap below and drill a hole to install a stainless steel sink. Connect the toilet tank inlet pipe and shower hose, and install a toilet seat and a spray-type showerhead to meet daily toilet and washing needs.
  5. Door Making and Installation: Make a door with wooden boards and hinges and install a door handle to ensure normal use and easy opening and closing of the door.

Overall Finished Installations Without Civil Engineering

This method is similar to building with building blocks. It is supported by columns and then spliced and fixed. During installation, ensure that every clip fits tightly to guarantee the overall structural stability of the toilet. This construction method is relatively simple and quick, eliminating the need for a complex self-making process. It is suitable for situations where construction speed is required and the budget is relatively sufficient. Moreover, mobile toilets installed as overall finished products are usually more reasonably designed and have more complete functions. They may already be equipped with complete water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, etc., providing a better user experience.
