Rural Household Mobile Toilet Renovation

Admin October 08, 2026

There are various ways to renovate mobile toilets for rural households, and appropriate plans can be selected based on actual needs and site conditions.

I. Integrated Mobile Toilets

  1. Wood-grain Mobile Toilet It measures 1.2 meters in width and 1.5 meters in length. It adopts a modular design, requiring no bricklaying or foundation pouring. Only a flat ground is needed for installation. Internally, it is equipped with a toilet (with options for squat or sit toilets), a small washbasin, a paper basket, and louvered windows. The roof and walls are made of insulation materials, and the outer layer is covered with a waterproof membrane, enabling it to adapt to environments ranging from -10℃ to 40℃. The installation process is simple, and a professional team can complete the assembly and put it into use within one day. It is suitable for independent courtyards in households or temporary use scenarios in farmland.

  2. Compact Outdoor Mobile Toilet It has dimensions of 1.1 meters by 1.1 meters and a height of 2.35 meters. Internally, it comes standard with a squat toilet, a five-hole socket (supporting power supply for lighting or exhaust fans), and a waterproof and anti-slip floor. The structure uses a galvanized steel pipe frame covered with high-density polyethylene panels, which are resistant to ultraviolet rays and corrosion. During installation, it needs to be connected to a water inlet pipe and a sewage discharge pipe. If the site already has water and electricity connections, it can be commissioned and used within 10 minutes. It is suitable for rural households with limited space but requiring long-term use.

II. Partial Renovation Plans Squat Toilet to Sit Toilet Conversion For scenarios where there are existing squat toilet facilities but an improvement in user comfort is needed, a special chair for converting from squat to sit can be used. This device is equipped with adjustable supports at the bottom to fit different sizes of squat toilet openings. The seat surface is made of anti-slip material and comes with armrests, with a load-bearing capacity of up to 200 kilograms. During installation, simply place the chair above the squat toilet and fix it by adjusting the supports. There is no need to modify the original sewage discharge structure. It is cost-effective and can be disassembled at any time, making it especially suitable for households with elderly people or those with mobility issues.

III. Renovation Precautions

  1. Sewage Disposal: If a toilet option is chosen, the location of a septic tank needs to be planned in advance or connection to the municipal sewage network should be made. For squat toilets, ensure that the slope of the sewage discharge pipe is ≥2% to avoid blockages.
  2. Ventilation Design: Mobile toilets need to be equipped with exhaust fans or ventilation windows internally to prevent the accumulation of odors. It is recommended to use exhaust pipes with a diameter of more than 10 centimeters.
  3. Anti-freezing Measures: In northern regions, insulation treatment for water tanks and water pipes is required, such as wrapping them with rubber-plastic sponges or using electric tracing tapes.
  4. Compliance: Before renovation, it is necessary to confirm whether it complies with local rural sanitary toilet construction standards. Some regions have specific requirements for toilet height and sewage discharge methods.
