Rural Homemade Mobile Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

Rural homemade mobile toilets can be made from materials such as water storage tanks, pallets, or water storage barrels. Common types include portable toilets, biodegradable types, and waterless flush types. The following provides an introduction from the perspectives of production methods and common types:

Production Methods

Some young men in rural areas use water storage tanks and pallets to make mobile toilets. During the specific operation, a suitable pallet needs to be prepared first. Tools are used to fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet, which enables the entire structure to be mobile. After that, the water storage tank is placed reasonably on the pallet, and the water storage tank is modified according to actual needs, such as installing a toilet seat ring and connecting water pipes to achieve basic toilet functions. Some young men also use water storage barrels to make mobile toilets. Generally, they modify the water storage barrel appropriately and add necessary components, such as a toilet lid and a sewage outlet, to turn it into a simple mobile toilet.

Common Types

  • Portable Toilets: These mobile toilets are usually made of high-strength plastic materials, which are lightweight, easy to carry, and move. They are equipped with detachable waste tanks. When the waste tank is full, it can be easily removed for cleaning and replacement. This type of mobile toilet is suitable for temporary use, such as at rural events, gatherings, etc. It can also be placed in the elderly's rooms to facilitate nighttime toilet use for the elderly.
  • Biodegradable Types: This type of mobile toilet uses microbial degradants to treat excrement. Microorganisms can decompose and transform the organic matter in the excrement, eventually forming organic fertilizer. This organic fertilizer can be directly used in vegetable gardens to provide nutrients for crops, achieving resource recycling. It is both environmentally friendly and practical.
  • Waterless Flush Types: Waterless flush mobile toilets use a special sealing structure in combination with adsorbent materials. The special sealing structure can effectively prevent the spread of odors, and the adsorbent materials can absorb the moisture and odors in the excrement, keeping the interior of the toilet clean and hygienic. This type of mobile toilet does not require water for flushing, saving water resources. It is suitable for use in rural areas where water resources are relatively scarce.
