Mobile Toilet Position in Rough-Decorated Houses
Technically, it is feasible to relocate the mobile toilet (toilet relocation) in rough-decorated houses, but appropriate methods must be selected based on the drainage system, and attention must be paid to construction details to reduce the risk of blockage.

I. Selecting Relocation Methods Based on Drainage System
Same-Floor Drainage (Sunken Bathroom)
The bathroom floor is approximately 40cm lower than the floor level, with drainage pipes located on the same floor, providing ample space for modifications.- Using a Toilet Relocator: Suitable for short-distance relocation (recommended not to exceed 2m, with some opinions suggesting not to exceed 40cm). A drainage slope of 2%-3% must be reserved to prevent blockage.
- Direct Pipe Adjustment: The floor inside a sunken bathroom can be excavated to extend or shorten the pipes for relocation without the need for additional tools.
Inter-Floor Drainage (Drainage Pipes Pass Through the Floor)
The drainage pipes are located in the neighbor's apartment below, requiring negotiation before construction and posing higher modification difficulties.- Toilet Relocator + Raised Floor: Since the floor cannot be damaged, the floor must be raised (approximately 10cm) to form a 3° slope to assist drainage. The relocation distance is recommended not to exceed 2m.
- Floor Drain to Wall Drain Conversion: Connect the toilet's drainage outlet to the wall adjacent to the riser, applicable to both same-floor and inter-floor drainage. A false wall must be constructed to hide the pipes, and niches can be incorporated to increase storage space.
- Cross-Floor Pipe Modification: If the neighbor agrees, the drainage pipe position can be directly modified downstairs, but proper waterproofing and trap treatment must be done to prevent odors.
II. Key Construction Considerations
- Slope Control: A slope of 2%-3% must be reserved for floor relocation to ensure smooth drainage and reduce the risk of blockage.
- Space Reservation: The distance between the toilet and the wall should be kept at 30-40cm to avoid inconvenience in use.
- Waterproofing Treatment: The relocation area must be repainted with a waterproof layer and subjected to a 48-hour closed-water test to prevent leakage to the apartment below.
- Toilet Type Selection:
- When the drainage pipe is relocated or a trap exists, prioritize choosing a washdown toilet, whose straight-flush design is less prone to blockage.
- Siphon toilets have a complex drainage path and are prone to forming double S-bends with relocated pipes, posing a higher risk of blockage and requiring cautious use.
III. Risk Warning
Toilet relocation may disrupt the balance of the original drainage system, and even with proper construction, there is still a probability of blockage. If not necessary, it is recommended to keep the original position. If relocation is required, be sure to choose a professional team and strictly adhere to slope and waterproofing specifications.
