Structure of Prefabricated Panels for Roof Slabs
The prefabricated panels for roof slabs are pre-made concrete components, produced through specific processes, and are divided into two structural types: solid and hollow. When installed, they are directly placed on brick walls and have specific size and load rating requirements.

Production Process
When producing prefabricated panels, a hollow mold is first made using wooden planks. Steel bars, commonly coiled bars or cold-drawn wires, are placed in the hollow part of the mold. Then, the hollow part is filled with cement, pebbles, and sand. After it dries, the wooden planks are knocked off, and the prefabricated panel is completed.
Structural Types
The prefabricated panels come in two structural types: solid and hollow. The design of the hollow structure is ingenious. By reducing the non-load-bearing concrete, it achieves lightweighting of the prefabricated panels. This design not only saves materials but also reduces the overall weight of the roof, having a positive effect on the stability of the building structure.
Installation Method
When installing prefabricated panels on the roof, they are directly placed on brick walls. It should be noted that the prefabricated panels and the walls are not an integral structure. The gaps between the panels are connected only with concrete or cement mortar. This installation method is relatively simple, but it is necessary to ensure the firmness of the connection parts to guarantee the safety and stability of the roof.
Size Specifications
Prefabricated panels have common size specifications. Their maximum span can reach 4.2 meters, a size usually suitable for residential buildings. The width options are 500mm and 600mm, and the thickness options are 120mm or 150mm. These size specifications are determined based on the actual needs and functions of the building and can meet the load-bearing and space requirements of different roofs.
Load Ratings
The live load ratings that prefabricated panels can bear are divided into two levels: Level 1 and Level 2. The live load for Level 1 is 1kN/m², and for Level 2, it is 2kN/m². Different load ratings are suitable for different building scenarios and usage requirements. When designing the roof structure, it is necessary to select prefabricated panels with appropriate load ratings according to the actual usage of the building and the possible load conditions.
