How to Install Mobile Toilets on Roofs

Admin September 27, 2026

The method of installing mobile toilets on roofs varies depending on the type of toilet, and it is necessary to select the corresponding installation method based on the specific type. Here are the key points for installing the roofs of several common types of mobile toilets:

Thatched-roof mobile restrooms: The roof installation should adopt a lightweight structure to reduce the load-bearing requirements on the roof and ensure safety. The thatch material should be synthetic thatch that has been soaked in fire-retardant and anti-corrosion agents. This material can not only simulate the appearance of natural thatch but also improve fire resistance and anti-corrosion properties, extending its service life. The roof slope should be ≥30°. This design facilitates the rapid drainage of rainwater, preventing water accumulation that could lead to roof leakage or damage. At the joints between the roof and the walls, weather-resistant sealant (such as silicone sealant) should be used for sealing to prevent rainwater from seeping into the interior through the joints. At the same time, a waterproof membrane should be installed at the bottom of the roof to form a double waterproofing barrier, further improving the waterproofing effect.

Color-steel mobile toilets: The installation of the roof frame should follow a bottom-up spatial sequence. First, complete the installation of the base supports and wall panels, and then proceed with the construction of the roof frame. This ensures the stability and coordination of the entire structure. After the roof installation is completed, it is necessary to focus on checking whether the sealing strips of the rain eaves are intact. The sealing strips are a crucial detail for preventing rainwater infiltration. If the strips are damaged or missing, rainwater can easily enter the interior of the toilet through the rain eaves, causing damage. Therefore, careful inspection should be carried out during the installation process to ensure that the sealing strips are in good condition.

Split-type mobile toilets: The installation of the roof panels should be carried out after the wall installation is completed. Use bolts or clips to firmly fix the roof panels to the walls, ensuring a tight connection between the roof and the walls. After installation, sealing treatment is also required to prevent water leakage. Sealant can be applied at the joints between the roof panels and the walls, or waterproof tape can be used for sealing to effectively block the intrusion of rainwater.
