Where Does the Sewage from Rented Mobile Toilets Go?

Admin October 06, 2026

The sewage disposal methods for rented mobile toilets mainly include sewage storage tanks, connection to municipal sewage networks, biochemical treatment technology, direct discharge treatment, packaged treatment, and mobile sewage treatment, among others.

  1. Sewage Storage Tank Discharge: This is a relatively common method. Mobile toilets are equipped with sealed sewage storage tanks at the bottom, into which sewage is directly discharged. When the storage tank is nearly full, a specialized sewage suction truck comes to extract the sewage and transport it to a sewage treatment plant for centralized treatment. This method is suitable for various venues, especially those without access to municipal sewage networks. It is relatively simple to operate but requires regular cleaning of the sewage storage tank.
  2. Connection to Municipal Sewage Networks: Some mobile toilets have the capability to connect to municipal sewage network systems. Sewage is directly introduced into the network through pipes and eventually flows to a sewage treatment plant for processing. This method requires the presence of a municipal sewage network nearby and ensures that the connection complies with relevant regulations to guarantee smooth sewage discharge.
  3. Biochemical Treatment Technology Discharge: Some mobile toilets are equipped with small-scale biochemical treatment devices inside. These devices utilize microorganisms to decompose organic matter in the sewage. After treatment, the sewage meets certain discharge standards and can be directly discharged to designated locations in the natural environment. However, this method is relatively complex and costly, requiring regular maintenance and management of the biochemical treatment devices.
  4. Direct Discharge Treatment: Some temporarily rented mobile toilets adopt a direct discharge design, where excreta is directly discharged into municipal sewers through pipes. This method is suitable for venues with access to municipal sewer networks, such as large music festivals and exhibition sites. However, it is necessary to confirm the capacity of the venue's drainage system before use to avoid blockages caused by excessive discharge.
  5. Packaged Treatment Discharge: In areas without municipal sewer networks, such as outdoor construction sites and rural events, packaged mobile toilets are often used. The principle is to seal excreta in biodegradable plastic bags, which are automatically packaged using hydraulic devices after use. When the bags are full, they are collected and processed by specialized personnel. This method does not require water flushing, is suitable for remote areas, and the packaging bags can naturally degrade, reducing environmental pollution.
  6. Mobile Sewage Treatment Discharge: High-end mobile toilet rentals often come with small-scale sewage treatment systems. Through physical filtration and biological purification processes, the sewage is treated to discharge standards and then recycled. This method saves water and electricity and is particularly suitable for water-sensitive scenarios such as scenic spots and campsites. However, it should be noted that the maintenance cost of the equipment is relatively high, and service content should be confirmed with the rental provider in advance.
