Renovation of Mobile Toilet Pipelines

Admin September 28, 2026

There are several methods for renovating mobile toilet pipelines, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the actual situation:

1. Use a toilet offset flange It is suitable for short-distance relocation (generally not exceeding 400mm), otherwise, the risk of blockage increases. The specific steps are as follows: After purchasing a finished offset flange, chisel out the floor slab, pre-embed the offset flange and adjust its angle, re-pour the floor, make a waterproof layer, and finally lay tiles and install the toilet. The new type of toilet offset flange has a larger relocation range (up to 2 meters), is convenient for construction, and is less prone to blockage. However, it is necessary to ensure that the pipeline slope is reasonable to avoid sewage stagnation.

2. Same-floor drainage renovation

  • Floor slab lowering: If the original structure of the bathroom has a lowered floor design (such as a sunken bathroom), the toilet and drain outlet can be directly arranged, and a slanted tee can be used to connect to the main sewage pipe to reduce the risk of blockage.
  • Floor slab raising: By building a raised platform (with a height of about 20-30cm) to re-plan the drainage path, it is suitable for long-distance relocation. However, it should be noted that the raised platform may occupy the floor height, and the structural load-bearing design needs to be strengthened.

3. Inter-floor drainage renovation

  • Relocation of the drain below: It is necessary to negotiate with the residents downstairs to drill holes in their ceiling for renovating the drainage pipe. The relocation distance is unlimited, but it is necessary to strictly make a waterproof layer and seal the trap to prevent odor and leakage.
  • Wall-mounted drainage renovation: The toilet is hung on a steel structure bracket, and the drainage pipe is laid along the wall surface, which is aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean. However, it cannot be directly connected to the main sewage pipe and needs to be transferred through a horizontal pipe, which may affect the drainage efficiency.

4. Increase the floor height It is suitable for residents with sufficient floor height. By raising the bathroom floor (about 10-15cm) to hide the relocation pipes, attention should be paid to the sealing at the connection between the toilet and the floor to avoid water leakage caused by loosening after long-term use.

5. Renovation of sunken bathrooms If the bathroom has a sunken structure, the position of the sewage pipe can be directly changed. During backfilling, it is necessary to reinforce it with red bricks, steel bars, and cement mortar to prevent ground settlement. After renovation, a closed-water test (lasting 24-48 hours) should be carried out to ensure no leakage.

Precautions:

  • Before renovation, communicate with the property management and the residents downstairs to avoid disputes.
  • The pipeline connections must be coated with special glue and installed with sealing rings to prevent reversal.
  • The waterproof layer should cover more than 30cm of the wall surface, and nodes such as floor drains and around the toilet should be strengthened.
  • After renovation, regularly check the drainage smoothness to avoid blockage caused by debris.
