Recommended Dimensions for Mobile Toilet Doors

Admin October 08, 2026

The recommended dimensions for mobile toilet doors should be flexibly designed based on specific scenarios and requirements. Common specifications are as follows:

  1. Dimensions of the external door opening for conventional mobile toilets
Common fixed dimensions are 800mm×2000mm or 900mm×2100mm (width×height). These dimensions are suitable for most standard mobile toilets, balancing ease of passage and structural stability. If further space compression is needed, the width of the external door opening can be adjusted to 750mm, but it must be ensured that users (especially those with larger builds) can pass through smoothly.

  2. Dimensions of internal partition doors or functional partition doors
Due to space constraints, the width of internal partition doors is usually compressed to 650mm to 700mm, with the height being the same as that of the external doors (2000mm to 2100mm). This design is commonly seen in compact mobile restrooms, sacrificing some comfort for higher space utilization. If the internal layout allows, it is recommended to prioritize a width of 700mm to enhance the user experience.

  3. Dimensions for barrier-free or wheelchair-accessible scenarios
The width of mobile toilet doors that need to accommodate wheelchairs should be at least 900mm, with the height maintained at the standard 2100mm. This specification complies with barrier-free design standards, ensuring sufficient turning radius for wheelchairs and facilitating assistance from caregivers. If space is limited, the door width can be compressed to 850mm, but simulated testing must be conducted to verify the feasibility of passage.

  4. Special requirements for sliding door designs
If a sliding door structure is adopted, it is recommended to have a uniform height of 2000mm and a width range of 600mm to 800mm. Sliding doors reduce the net space required for opening, making them suitable for narrow mobile toilet layouts. However, attention must be paid to the installation accuracy of the tracks and sealing to prevent odor leakage or operational stuttering.

Design considerations:

  • Impact of opening method: Hinged doors require a reserved radius for door leaf opening (usually widened by 50mm to 100mm), while sliding doors do not require additional space.
  • Materials and structure: Lightweight materials (such as aluminum alloy) can reduce the self-weight of the door, facilitating the overall transportation of the mobile toilet; steel door frames enhance durability and are suitable for high-frequency use scenarios.
  • Humanized details: It is recommended to set the height of the door handle between 900mm and 1100mm to facilitate operation by users of different heights; windproof hooks or sealing strips can be installed at the bottom of the door to enhance wind resistance and privacy protection.
