Reasons for Tilting of Prefabricated Panel Houses
The reasons for the tilting of prefabricated panel houses mainly include foundation issues, aging of the main structure, unauthorized renovations, inadequate design measures, unreasonable structural layout, and installation problems, among others.

Foundation Issues: Uneven settlement of the foundation bearing layer is one of the important causes of tilting in prefabricated panel houses. Changes in groundwater levels or ineffective treatment of soft soil foundations can trigger such problems. When the foundation soil layer is uneven, with some areas being firm soil layers and others being highly compressible weak soil layers, significant differences in the bearing capacity and compressibility of the foundation can occur, leading to uneven settlement and causing the house to tilt.
Aging of the Main Structure: Over time, the main structure of prefabricated panel houses gradually ages. Corrosion of steel reinforcement can lead to a degradation in the stiffness of structural components, particularly the mortar layers at the joints of prefabricated panels, which are prone to carbonation and spalling, weakening the overall integrity of the structure and thus causing the house to tilt.
Unauthorized Renovations During Use: During use, some users may carry out unauthorized renovations to the house, such as the brutal demolition of load-bearing walls by ground-floor merchants. These actions can severely damage the building structure, leading to uneven force distribution in the house and subsequently causing tilting.
Inadequate Design Measures: During the house design phase, if effective foundation treatment measures are not taken for highly compressible weak soil layers, such as replacement or pile foundations, it is difficult to control settlement differences, thereby increasing the risk of house tilting.
Unreasonable Structural Layout: The structural layout of the house also affects its stability. If the design of open stairwells in the middle, large-span rooms, etc., is unreasonable, it can weaken the overall integrity of the structure, leading to uneven stiffness distribution, prone to stress concentration cracking, and subsequently causing the house to tilt.
Installation Problems: During the installation process, if the foundation is uneven or there are dimensional errors in the prefabricated panels themselves, these factors, acting alone or together, can lead to significant tilting of the prefabricated panels, thereby affecting the stability of the entire house.
