Installation of Mobile Toilets in Qinghai Scenic Areas

Admin October 17, 2026

The installation of mobile toilets in Qinghai scenic areas requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors, including the environment, technology, facility types, and quality improvement projects.

Environmental Assessment Before Installation: Qinghai region features unique environmental conditions such as high altitude, strong ultraviolet radiation, and significant temperature differences between day and night. Additionally, factors like ground bearing capacity, depth of permafrost layers, and seasonal wind variations must be considered. Accurate calculation of the thermal expansion and contraction coefficients of color-steel materials establishes foundational parameters for subsequent installation, ensuring that mobile toilets can adapt to complex environments.

Key Technical Points for Installation: The main structure adopts a modular assembly approach, with high-strength galvanized bolts and sealing gaskets used at connection points, adhering to strict torque control standards. Electrical wiring and water supply/drainage pipes between modules utilize quick-connect interfaces with anti-leakage and anti-freeze designs. The walls employ a multi-layer composite structure, with an outer layer of color-steel corrugated sheets and an inner layer filled with polyurethane foam of a specific thickness. This is poured in a constant-temperature and humidity-controlled environment and secured through a combination of physical anchoring and chemical bonding to prevent cold bridge phenomena. For areas lacking complete municipal sewage networks, self-circulating or negative pressure collection systems are equipped, relying on micro vacuum pumps to generate constant negative pressure, enabling the directional transport of waste along dedicated pipes to collection containers. The key is to maintain precise control over system sealing and negative pressure values. To address unstable power supply issues in high-altitude regions, most installation plans integrate photovoltaic power generation systems. Photovoltaic panels are installed to fit the roof's curved surface using custom brackets, with energy storage devices utilizing low-temperature lithium battery packs equipped with intelligent charge-discharge controllers. After installation, a multi-parameter sensor network is deployed, including odor concentration detectors, liquid level sensors, and temperature and humidity monitors, which are networked through low-power IoT modules to collect real-time operational data. Upon completion of construction, three-dimensional laser scanning inspections are conducted to obtain complete point cloud data for comparison with design models, focusing on detecting verticality deviations, joint flatness, and equipment installation positioning accuracy. Specialized airtightness tests are also required.

Selection of Facility Types: There are foam-sealed mobile toilets, shipped whole to scenic areas, featuring two regular squatting positions with independent accessible compartments, eliminating the need for septic tanks and providing freeze-proof and odor-proof capabilities for immediate use upon arrival. Additionally, there are finished mobile public toilets, prefabricated in factories with separate facilities for men and women, including accessible compartments for the disabled, ready for use upon connection to water and electricity supplies, suitable for temporary projects at scenic sites and construction sites.

Quality Improvement Projects: Haibei Prefecture has launched a three-year action plan for improving the quality of tourist toilets, aiming to build or renovate 60 tourist toilets annually in batches. The focus is on enhancing accessible toilet stalls, third toilets, and maternal and child facilities, as well as other elderly-friendly and convenient supporting amenities. The plan also optimizes the ratio of male to female toilet stalls and promotes the layout and construction of prefabricated, mobile, and tidal toilets.
