Qijiang Prefabricated Houses
Qijiang has made remarkable progress in the field of prefabricated houses and is an important practice area for prefabricated construction in the southwest region, forming a complete system from technological application to industrial clusters.

I. Landmark Project: The First Prefabricated Farmers' New Village in Southwest China
The Wenshengchang Farmers' New Village in Zuantang Town, Qijiang District, is the first farmers' new village in Southwest China to adopt prefabricated construction methods. With a total construction area exceeding 7,000 square meters and a prefabrication rate of 65%, the project utilizes components such as prefabricated beams, composite slabs, stairs, eaves, and air conditioning panels. Through standardized factory production and on-site assembly, it has achieved industrialization in construction. Compared to traditional construction methods, the project has shortened the construction period by over 10%, reduced overall energy consumption by 70%, significantly improved efficiency, and minimized resource consumption.
II. Support from Core Enterprises: Enhancing Production Capacity and Technology
As the primary supplier, Chongqing Construction Engineering High-tech Building Materials Co., Ltd. has established an annual production capacity of 120,000 cubic meters of concrete prefabricated components, 350,000 square meters of doors and windows, and 450,000 square meters of curtain walls since its establishment in Qijiang in 2011. Its products cover core components such as prefabricated beams, slabs, and stairs, providing stable technical and material support for prefabricated construction and driving the improvement of the regional industrial chain.
III. Industrial Planning: Building a Modern Construction Industry Base
Qijiang is planning to construct a modern construction industry base centered around prefabricated construction, focusing on the development of projects such as prefabricated components, steel structure processing, and steel bar distribution. Leveraging projects like the Chongqing Construction Engineering Housing Industrialization Base and Qijiang Steel Structure, it aims to create a cluster effect. Additionally, by utilizing by-products from the local coal, electricity, and chemical industries (such as desulfurized gypsum and fly ash), it is developing new building materials like gypsum boards and aerated concrete blocks, achieving resource recycling. Currently, the park has attracted 16 new building material enterprises, with plans to achieve an annual output value exceeding 20 billion yuan by 2020, aiming to become an important construction industry cluster in Southwest China.
IV. Technological Advantages: Balancing Energy Efficiency and Productivity
The practice of prefabricated construction in Qijiang demonstrates the advantages of industrialized construction: through standardized design, factory production, and modular construction, it reduces on-site wet operations, lowers dust and noise pollution, improves construction quality with high-precision components, and facilitates later maintenance and renovation through modular design. The success of the Wenshengchang project has validated the technical feasibility and provided a replicable model for rural housing renovation in Southwest China.
The development of prefabricated houses in Qijiang has not only driven the upgrading of the construction industry but also provided impetus for the green transformation of the regional economy. Its experience serves as a valuable reference for the promotion of prefabricated construction nationwide.
