There was illegal construction using containers in Pumiao Town, and the relevant illegal structures have been demolished in accordance with the law.

Details of the Illegal Construction

There were four illegal constructions on Yangfeng Road and Longgang No. 8 Road in Pumiao Town. These constructions occupied land without going through the relevant approval procedures. Some of these illegal constructions adopted the method of setting up containers, which were used for operating small shops, waste recycling, catering, etc. This act of privately setting up containers for business activities not only violated relevant laws and regulations on land management and construction planning but also had a negative impact on the local urban appearance and environment.

The Demolition Process

Yongning District organized a joint law enforcement team and carried out a cleanup and demolition operation against these four illegal constructions in accordance with the law on May 14. Before the demolition operation, the law enforcement officers provided guidance and education to the owners of the illegal constructions. Based on effective communication in the early stage, the owners of the illegal constructions cooperated with the rectification work. On the day of the demolition, the law enforcement officers set up warning lines around the area to remind pedestrians and vehicles to detour. The staff guided the owners of the illegal constructions to move away the stored items. Subsequently, large-scale operational machinery entered the site, and the illegal buildings were quickly demolished. The entire demolition process proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner. This operation cleared an illegal land occupation area of 5,210 square meters and demolished an illegal construction area of 4,160 square meters.

Follow-up Supervision Measures

To prevent similar illegal land occupation and illegal construction behaviors from happening again, Yongning District will increase inspection efforts and continuously improve the long-term supervision mechanism. It will severely crack down on unauthorized construction and roadside business operations and regularly organize "look-backs" to achieve early detection, early prevention, and early demolition, fully safeguarding a clean and tidy urban appearance in Yongning and enhancing the happiness and satisfaction of the residents in the jurisdiction.
