In terms of exterior design, Pudong New Area emphasizes the harmonious and aesthetically pleasing integration of mobile toilets with their surrounding environments. Seven mobile public toilets, located at the intersections of Haitong Road and Meihua Road, Century Avenue and Weifang Road, and Zhangyang Road and Miaopu Road, have been unveiled with a fresh look. They feature soft color palettes such as light beige and light brown as the base, complemented by dark blue borders and accents. This color scheme not only makes the mobile toilets appear more warm and comfortable but also helps them blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment, avoiding a jarring appearance and enhancing the overall cityscape.
For convenience, the interior facilities of ordinary toilet stalls are fully equipped, and the decoration is simple and bright, providing citizens with a good user experience. Additionally, "age-friendly and child-friendly toilet stalls" have been created to precisely meet the needs of special groups. In the age-friendly design, auxiliary handrails are installed beside the toilets to facilitate the elderly in standing up and sitting down, reducing the risk of falls. The child-friendly design is reflected in the exclusive and adaptive design of the children's toilet area, such as toilets and sinks at appropriate heights, making it convenient for children to use. Furthermore, the electronic screens on the toilet stall doors display real-time usage status, allowing citizens to know from a distance whether a stall is available, avoiding blind waiting, and improving usage efficiency.
In addition to meeting the basic needs of citizens, Pudong New Area also pays attention to the needs of sanitation workers. The mobile public toilet at the intersection of Century Avenue and Weifang Road has added a dedicated "Sanitation Workers' Rest Station" for sanitation workers. The station is equipped with facilities such as refrigerators, shower rooms, microwaves, and charging ports, providing a place for sanitation workers to rest and replenish. Sanitation workers can come here to rest, heat up meals, charge devices, etc., during their work breaks, reflecting care and respect for this group.
