Public Mobile Toilet Materials

Admin September 24, 2026

Common materials for public mobile toilets include galvanized steel structures, epoxy resin and fiberglass, color-coated steel sheets, stainless steel, and wooden materials, each with its own characteristics and suitable scenarios.

Galvanized steel structures are one of the commonly used foundational materials for public mobile toilets. Their core advantage lies in structural stability. The galvanizing process forms a zinc layer on the surface of the steel, effectively isolating it from air and moisture, preventing rust and corrosion, and extending the overall service life. This material is often used in scenarios requiring long-term fixation or frequent relocation, such as urban streets and transportation hubs, where it can withstand the mechanical stresses of frequent disassembly, assembly, and transportation, ensuring structural safety.

Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), composed of epoxy resin and fiberglass, is the mainstream choice for temporary mobile toilets. Epoxy resin, as the matrix material, combines with fiberglass reinforcements to form a high-strength, lightweight composite structure. Its surface is smooth and flat, resistant to stain absorption, and possesses the characteristics of never rusting and being corrosion-resistant and durable, making it particularly suitable for environments with high humidity or chemical corrosion risks. For example, in temporary large gatherings, construction sites, or natural disaster emergency scenarios, GRP mobile toilets can be rapidly deployed and require minimal maintenance.

Color-coated steel sheets are composed of color-coated steel plates and core materials such as foam or rock wool, offering both lightweight and economic benefits. Their weight is only 1/5 to 1/3 of that of traditional brick-and-mortar structures, making them easy to install and quickly assembled through modular design. Color-coated steel sheets are relatively inexpensive, suitable for temporary event venues or construction sites with limited budgets. However, it should be noted that the fire resistance and durability of their core materials are significantly affected by the environment. Prolonged exposure to strong ultraviolet rays or corrosive gases may cause the coating to peel off, necessitating regular inspection and maintenance.

Stainless steel materials are renowned for their high strength and corrosion resistance, often used in scenarios with high hygiene and aesthetic requirements. 304 or 316 stainless steel, by adding elements such as chromium and nickel, forms a dense oxide film that effectively resists corrosive environments such as humidity and salt spray. Its smooth surface is easy to clean, meeting public health standards, and its modern and simple appearance makes it suitable for public spaces such as parks, squares, and scenic spots. However, stainless steel is relatively expensive and more difficult to process than other materials, typically used in high-end or long-term fixed mobile toilets.

Wooden materials, mostly treated with preservatives through pressure impregnation to enhance their resistance to insect infestation and decay, are commonly used in parks, resorts, or beautiful rural areas due to their natural texture and warm feel that harmonize with the natural environment. However, wooden materials require regular maintenance, such as applying waterproof paint or preservatives, to prevent cracking or deformation, and have relatively weak fire resistance, necessitating keeping them away from fire sources or equipping them with fire protection facilities.
